Shivagami's character required someone who could pull off various shades of emotions convincingly like Ramyakrishna and Devasena's character required an axtress like Anushka Shetty who has tremendous screen presence and of course great chemistry with Prabhas.
So the question of Ramyakrishna overshadowing Anushka doesn't arise at all.
The original choice Sreedevi would have done Sivagami's role a complete justice even if she played it way differently from Ramyakrishna.
