Riddhima twirled at the melody and stood in the middle. For a minute everything came to a standstill to her. The music the people everything just stopped.
She looked at Kabir. The smug smile is plastered on his face. Threat that he had been giving her all day all played in front of her eyes back to back.
She turned towards her family. A family that was dear to Vansh. A family she vowed to protect even though they keep back stabbing her every given oppetunity. Just like Vansh used to protect them despite their every misdeed.
Riddhima took a step back and looked at Vihaan. Standing with a questioning glint in his eyes. Eyes that are so similar to her late husband, yet so much indifference in him. His offer came rushing to her mind like a flood. Riddhima chuckled. Everytime she doubts this may be her Vansh, Vihaan proves it otherwise with his action. She knew her Vansh. No matter what, he would have never played with a woman’s dignity. Let alone his wife suffer like this. But this is Vihaan. And at this moment, he is the only hope she had. But could she trust him?
Riddhima closed her eyes. All she could remember was Vansh and their moments.
This is for Vansh, she said to herself.
If Vansh wasn’t here today it was only because of her and it came under her responsibility to protect his family in his absence. No matter how cruel they were with her, they were precious to Vansh, which made them precious to her. With a determined look Riddhima opened her eyes. The music started to flood in her ears.

For Vansh, she said to herself and ran towards Vihaan. She could see the surprising look on his face but she didn’t have time to dwell on him anymore. She jumped and as if Vihaan was ready for it, caught her in the mid-air. There it is. She has done what she was asked for. Once again, putting behind her own wish, she bowed down to someone else for her love. She opened her arms and looked at the ceiling. A apology was sent to her Vansh through her silent prayers. An apology she didn’t even know he would understand or not. Would he forgive her for being on the arms of a stranger when she herself couldn’t.
I am doing this for your family Vansh. Just be my strength. Riddhima whispered.
A lone tear escaped her eyes. Thanks to the deemed light no one saw it. She looked down as Vihaan started to put her down. With wonder she realized her tears wasn’t missed by him. His eyes were saying he saw. Did he hear her prayers too? Would he stop?
The very next moment Riddhima scolded herself. Why? Why she is such a fool to trust a stranger again? After everything how can she think Vihaan would understand. He is not Vansh. The only person who loved her, understood her without any condition is gone. No one would be the same again.
The lights went on and she could see Kabir coming towards them with a sadistic glint on his eyes. Riddhima looked at Vihaan. Silently telling him to take over. Vihaan slightly nodded and took a step forward.
And there you go, She has played her part. She has given up herself to protect everything that dear to Vansh. A sacrifice that was bound to be made for the danger she brought upon this family. Now it’s time for to take a tep back and let Vihaan play the game.
You will make everything alright, won’t you? If not for anyone else, for your Riddhima? Riddhima sent a silent prayer to her Vansh closing her eyes. As soon as she opened her eyes she saw Vihaan looking at her with a strange determination as if he heard him again. But now is not the time to think about it. Kabir has already started the projector and stopped at the picture that is the reason of all destruction that just took place silently inside her.
Riddhima took a deep breathe. She became truly malang for her love. There is nothing more she could do. Now time for the game to begin.
