Chapter 3
Kalyani goes to the office the next day after dropping mokshat his school. Kalyani goes to her cabin and starts working. Minister’s secretary knocks on the cabin door and enters the cabin.
Kalyani: boliye..kya kaam hai?
Secretary: madam, muje minister saab ne beja hai, wohjaan na chahte the ki papers kab tak sign hojayenge.
Kalyani: ohh..tho aap ko minister saab n beja hai..
She says sarcastically, and stands, folding her hands.
Secretary: q madam koyi problem huyi hai kya? Dher lagegi papers sign hone mein? Koyi baat nay madam main minister saab ko inform kardoongi.
Kalyani: problem? Problem kudh tumhare minister saab hai, janta ki balayi keliye government ke diye gaye paison ko gair kanooni kaamon keiye istamaal kar raha hai. Unki paise kha raha hai aur woh yeh expect kar raha hai usme main uska saat doongi? Government ko andha samajta hai?
Secretary: ohh main samajgai madam.
She takes a blank check from her bag, with minister’s signature on it and keeps it on the table.
Secretary: minister saab ne bola tha pehle hi agar aap nakre kare tho aapko yeh check de doon.
Kalyani fumes in anger. And takes the blank check and tear it apart and throws it on the secretary’s face.
Kalyani: yeh apne blank check ke tukde utao aur apne minister saab ko dikho, aur unse bolo ki main unki plan ka bhi ayise ki tukde tukde karne wali hoon. Dubara meri office mein nazar aayi tho ek government official ko bribe dene e koshish ke ilzaam mein tumhe aur tumhare minister saabdono ko andar karwaadoongi.
Secretary gets scared listening to kalyani. She was about to run from the cabin.
Kalyani: aur suno, apni minister saab se bol dena ulti ginti suru karde, unke saare gair khanooni kaam, bahut jald hi unki iss file ki tarah close karne wali hoon main. Yeh kalyani rane ka vaada hai.
Secretary goes from there. Kalyani sits on the chair, she takes malhar’s picture that was kept on the table and thinks to herself that she will always stand for what is right, no matter what, just like malhar used todo. She thinks wherever mahar is right now, his soul will be happy to see that his kalyani is following his footsteps. And she also thinks that she will teach the same to moksh. She promises that looking malhar’s picture. Tears run down her cheek. She wipes the tears thinking that its time to go and pick up moksh from school.
Nikhil is going to movie with is friends. Kalyani’s car stops at the signal and kalyani sees an old lady finding it difficult to cross the road. She goes down from the car and goes to the old lady to help her. Nikhilstops the car near a wine shop to buy some.
Nikhil’s friend Rahul: arre who dekh, ek buddi ko ek jawaan ladki road cross karwa rai hai, who ladki kithni hot hai yaar.
Nikhil turns to the side Rahul is pointing at and sees kalyani for the first time. He gets mesmerized by her beauty. His eyes were fixed on kalyani’s face. He could see hair falling onto her face due to wind,and kalyani innocently smiling at the old lady while helping her cross the road and tucking her hair back.
Old lady: kush raho beta, bagwaan tumhaari zindagi kushiyon se bharde.
Kalyani’s face turns sad listening this, and thinks..
‘jis ladki ka pati aur uska pyaar usse humesha keliye chingaya ho woh kaise kabhi kush payegi’
Nikhil is still staring at kalyani, ignoring what his friends are saying. Signal turns green and kalyani sits in her car and car starts moving. Nikhil runs to his car and chases behind kalyani’s car leaving his friends there. His friends gets confused seeing his behavior as they never saw him running behind a girl like this, it was always girls who run behind him and dies to grab his attention. Nikhil follows the car for about 10 mins but he misses it at a turning. He feels disappointed and kicks his vehicle tire for not even remembering the car number as he was too busy staring at kalyani.
Kalyani picks up moksh from the school.
Moksh: aayi muje ice cream khana hai.
Kalyani takes him to an ice cream parlour. Kalyani orders malhar’s favorite flavor for herself and moksh’s favorite flavor for him.
Moksh: aayi yeha baba bhi hote tho kithna maza aata na, hum teeno ice cream kha rahe hote, jise mere friends apni aayi baba ke saat ice cream khane jaate hai.
Hearing this kalyani’s eyes filled with tears. Seeing her like this moksh thinks he hurt her with his words. And he innocently asks kalyani..
Moksh: main ne kuch galat bola hai kya? Tum ro rai ho?Please mat ro aayi, tumhe rote huye dekh ke muje bhi rona aajata hai.
Kalyani stops crying and wipes her tears and hugs moksh.
Moksh: I love you aayi, tum please kabhi mat rona,
Kalyani kisses on moksh’s forehead and says
Kalyani: I love you pillu.
Kalmoksh goes home after that. Nikhil in his room, playing with a basketball, still thinking about kalyani. His friend Rahul enters the room.
Rahul: are bhai yeh kya kiya aaj tune? Hum sab waha wine shope paas akhele chodke chalegaye!! Kya yaar, aaj tho cabs aur autos bhi strike pe the aur hum sab ko public bus mein dhakka mukku khate huye ghar aana padatha, mere peet abhi bhi akdi huyi hai..
Nikhil didn’t notice Rahul at all, he didn’t hear anything Rahul was saying as he was busy thinking about kalyani. Rahul notices it and hits Nikhil with a pillow. Nikhil comes back to his senses.
Nikhil: arre Rahul tu kab aaya bey?
Rahul: thank god tune finally notice tho kiya..
Sounding sarcastic.
Nikhil: ayisa q bol ra hai? Kya hua?
Rahul: tu bata tuje kya hua? Aaj jab se signal ke paasuss ladki ko dekha tab se ajeeb behave kar raha hai. Subah hum sab ko waha chodaaye, mudkar bhi nay dekha, uss ladki ki gaadi ke peeche ayise bhag raha tha jaise who koyi chor ho aur tu police, abhi bhi main kab se tere kamre mein baitke bak bak kar raha hoon, aur tuje pata bhi nay chala..kya horaha hai?
Nikhil: chor tho hai woh ladki…(says smiling)
Rahul: kya? Chor? Sachhi? Main abhi uncle ko bata ke aata hoon, uss ladki ki ithni himmat ki minister ke bete se kuch churai.??
Nikhil throws the football at Rahul stopping him from leaving the room.
Nikhil: abbey, poori baat tho sun, uss ladki ne churaya zaroor hai, lekin woh nay jo tu soch raha hai, uss ladki ne mujse meradil churaya hai.
He puts his hand on his heart and falls freely on his bed blushing. Rahul comes running towards Nikhil and says..
Rahul: bhai iska matlab tuje..tuje… PYAAR HO GAYA HAI!!! love at first sight bro...
Nikhil nods his head into yes…
