Diwali 2020 is here but the fear of Covid-19 is not letting many celebrate the festival with fervour. However, television celebs have decided not to let the novel coronavirus dampen their celebrations. From organising small pujas to enjoying a card party with family, here’s how these actors will celebrate Diwali.

Sharad Malhotra (Veer of Naagin5) - As a child, for me, the significance of Diwali was just bursting crackers and binging on some rosogollas and motichoor laddoos. This year too, like last year, I will be having Lakshmi Puja at home and post that we will be decorating my new house with diyas and maybe some rangoli too. We will also indulge in preparing some traditional Indian sweets.

Vivian Dsena (Harman of Shakti Astitva Ke Ehsaas Ki) - This time, I will celebrate Diwali with only my family. We all should do this and just wish our friends and relatives on the phone. It is really risky to invite anyone or visit anyone’s place during this pandemic. I will buy all the necessary things for Diwali puja; lights and all and decorate my home with lights and diyas. I will definitely avoid crackers and meeting friends and relatives due to Covid 19. I will be going to Ujjain, my hometown like every year but will make sure to take all precautions while travelling.

Sucheeta Trivedi (Kaku of Indiawaali Maa) - I have been constantly shooting so I will take a holiday on Diwali and will be celebrating the festival with my husband. I will follow all the rituals of the festival and thank the gods got gracing me with such luck this year. There is a major scare of Covid-19 this year and I am making sure to not go out too much or visit the markets.

Helly Shah (Riddhima of Ishq Mein Marjawan 2) - It's the best time of the year. But 2020 is a different year. A lot of things have changed and the way we celebrated festivals will also be different. We want our tomorrow to be a better place and the first thing we all should do is say no to crackers. I am glad that there is a lot of awareness about this already. I will be working this Diwali as my show Ishq Mein Marjawan has an interesting track where Riddhima’s life will be changing. I will be celebrating most of the part of this festival with my co-stars who are like my family. After pack up, I will be going home to my parents and plan to spend some quality time with them.

Saahil Uppal (Omkar of Pinjara Khubsurti Ka) - Every year I have a Diwali party with all my close friends because I stay away from my family. Having people around and spending some quality time is the whole essence of Diwali to me. But unfortunately, this year because I will be shooting, I wouldn't be able to celebrate the festival. But if I have time, I will have my close friends over and have a small get together with them.

Aura Bhatnagar (Bondita of Barrister Babu) - I love bursting crackers on Diwali but this year due to the current situation, I want to follow the rules, regulations and also maintain social distancing. I remember helping my mother last year in making sweets for Diwali and exchanging them with our neighbours. It was really special for me because it was the first time I learned how to bake and make sweets with my mother's help. I would like to take this opportunity and wish all my fans a very happy and cracker-free Diwali.

Avinesh Rekhi (Sarabjit of Choti Sardarni) - Due to the pandemic, we need to maintain social distancing and hence we cannot celebrate the festival as we used to earlier. I have planned something special this Diwali for my family. I have purchased clandestine gifts for my wife and kids and will be gifting them post-Lakshmi Puja. The best part is that they are aware that they will be getting special gifts, and are trying their best to find what’s in store for them but it’s a surprise and I am sure they will love their gifts.

Amar Upadhyay (Virendra Pratap Singh of Molkki) - The festival of Diwali is all about getting together with family and friends, chilling with them and relaxing. Every year I visit my relatives' place, but this year I am busy shooting for Molkki. Also, I am planning to cook for my family and enjoy the delicious meal with them.
