She ruined her own career by wanting to be skinny she should have just done her own thing and people would have appreciated her

No, she is not unlucky she won a national award and has gained moderate popularity. But sadly her popularity reduced due to her bad movie choices and her fan following decreased due to her thin body rant. I feel her acting used to be better initially.

After again being made fun of (SRK and Saif once gave her an award for being the worst dressed celebrity) she gave it up and instead concentrated on her plus points - immense talent, wit and being graceful under pressure.

Well, some people learn from their mistakes. Some don't. Vidya did. Good for her. Parineeti can still do well in off-beat cinema like Vidya, but no chance of being the top actress.

She's a great actress but always did kind of the same roles

Mostly to do with the offers she is getting. She doesn't get the plum offers top actresses are getting, nor does she get the challenging roles in contemporary films. She is stuck with middle-budget, neither-masala-nor-contemporary-genre films with usually a horrible costar.

I think the fact that she was pitted against Alia (unnecessarily), somehow caused her downfall.

2014 changed the dynamics. She had 3 flops, while Alia delivered 3 successes in her 2nd year only.

Pari got insecure, and decided to lose weight which actually went against her because she lost her uniqueness as well.

Her off-screen, loud and rude personality didn't help either to hook her fans. She annoyed several reporters during her interviews😆, while Alia always stayed polite and diplomatic and kept herself in good books of everyone.

Look at Bhumi. She also lost weight, but didn't lose her niche, unlike Pari.

I think success lies in choices especially in films. Maybe trying to make a right choice held her back from exploring

Taapsee and Bhumi have taken over the genre that Parineeti should've done. Now it's too late, they've completely owned the genre whereas Pari looks lost. Her script sense is also weird.
