Lol, I think there are companies that you go to, pay $ and ‘name a star’ and it’s on their database, given there are MILLIONS of stars in any galaxy, let alone the universe.
NASA/ international astronomical union (IAU) doesn’t recognize this at all.
For the international astronomical community to name something after you, it has to be your discovery or something they decide. For ex, naming something after recognized scientists or Roman/Greek gods etc.
So it’s really for any individuals personal gratification.
While I’m at it, people, YOU CANT OWN LAND ON MOON! 😂😂 like many have claimed sushant does.
