Two weddings: An exercise in balance

As an on and off viewer of this show, I started feeling soon after the first Kaira Vivah that Kaira and mostly just Naira started hijacking the show. Now since yrkkh loves it's weddings, we can compare weddings of two supporting characters and contrast how the relationships and storylines are balanced.

Yash and Rose: An inter-racial and inter-religious wedding. The whole track focuses on the complexities of the same, while giving focus to other parallel tracks such as- Gayu-Naira-Kartik love triangle, Naira Akshara tensions, Akshara missing Naitik, Naksh and his abandonment issues etc. I felt that all tracks were well balanced and the bride and groom got as much importance as the other leads.

Anmol-Mansi: At this point Naira was the unquestionable lead and both Anmol and Mansi were related to the extended family. However most of the wedding only focused on Kaira, their problems and their divorce. The bride and groom barely got space at their own wedding ceremony and any felt like plot device when they could have paid attention to developing AnMan as a couple with a lot of baggage.

Both of Naksh's marriages could also be compared in this way. Both had potential problems but only in one were they properly handled.

In fact, all weddings before Kaira Vivaah have had their own unique issues that are not related to the central couple. Starting from the beginning:

Shaurya-Varsha: love marriage

Akshara- Naitik: Arranged Marriage

Nandini Mohit: Older girl, disability

Rashmi-Nikhil: Different lifestyles

Rajbanna-Devyani: 2nd marriage, loneliness in old age

Anshu-Jasmeet: Intercultural wedding

Muskaan Alok: age difference

Ananya Ranveer: body image

Naksh-Tara: lack of communication, cultural differences, generation gap

Yash Rose: foreigner bahu, again religious and cultural differences.

And these are just what I could think of, there may be more, now it has just become an excuse to dance and for Naira to showcase their issues.

I only became a regular viewer of this show after Kairas entry but I have to agree after Kaira vivah every single wedding has mainly focused on Kaira and as much as I loved them I got sick of watching every single track being only about them. They came across as selfish during Mansi and Anmol wedding. They ruined someone's special with their bitter divorce only to just get back together straight after. Il be honest i don't like them as much now. I'm fed up of watching Naira being portrayed as someone so righteous which in my opinion she's not. Goenkas entry ruined Kaira and the show for me. The only characters I liked was Luv Kush and look at them now. I feel these 2 adorable character have been so badly ruined to glorify Naira so I've stopped watching. How did these 2 become to be such disgraceful humans? I need some sort of explaination. If going by the story I blame Kaira. Their toxic relationship has had a very bad impact on the family especially the kids so sorry if I don't praise Naira for going against her family to do the right thing cuz for me she is far from being right. And makers need to understand that just because a couple is loved that doesn't mean all focus should only need to be on them cuz too much focus ruined their charm.
