I wish it hadn't clashed with HF4

But hey, would it have really mattered though? Fine, Instead of 1 crore, it would get 2 crore at best. These people like tapaee, bhumi or rajkumar rao etc are not initial day crowd pullers. Their reign is restricted to only YouTube comments, in which almost all of em torrent movies instead of going to the theatres. Do you recall the IF folks bitchinggg about Hrithik being replaced by rajkumar rao for super 30?! LOL would have made lakhs opening day as opposed to what Hrithik got that movie.

Now let’s see how the WOM translates.

Shogun dont you know Rao is a big star as per Twitter 🙄 🤔

Jokes apart even I think Saand ki aankh would have fared better on a normal release date...would have caught the fancy of the social media movie talk...whereas now it's all about H4 bashing...these small films need breathing space...clashing just doesn't help...God knows who decides this kinda strategy...

Someone once told me in this alternate universe India forum that he is a star and tiger isn’t because at the time RKR went to koffee with Karan and that is the ultimate validation, so what do I know lol?! I lost some brain cells in that “discussion”. 😓

Anyways...

Early Estimates: Housefull 4 - Made In China - Saand Ki Aankh

Housefull 4 had a good opening day though the collections did not push in the evening like a normal Friday due to Pre Diwali. The film collected 19 crore nett though they way it opened it looked like a 20 crore nett plus figures was on the cards but the business slowed post 4 pm as its generally less footfalls in the evening due to festivities. Despite a pre Diwali release it is the highest opening ever for the Housefull franchise and the second highest opening ever for a comedy film after the 30 crore nett which Golmaal Again got on the day after Diwali a couple of years back.

The film has a good start but it is about what happens from Monday onward as that is when the audience will return to the theatres. The figures are good all over though if it was a normal Friday they would have been much better. Generally the figures go lower on Diwali and the day before Diwali and it remains to be seen where Housefull 4 goes over the next two days.

The other two releases could not perform at all on day one as one there is a limted audience anyway before Diwali and secondly they were clashing with a popular franchise film which was always going to be first choice. Made In China collected around 1 crore nett while Saand Ki Ankh may just top the 50 lakh mark by a few lakhs. The early estimates of the Diwali releases are as follows.

Housefull 4 - 19,00,00,000 apprx

Made In China - 1,00,00,000 apprx

Saand Ki Aankh - 50,00,000 apprx

Made In China And Saand Ki Aankh Saturday Business

Made In China has done poor business though it managed to go up on Saturday but that was a given from the business it did on day one. The poor first day collections have made it a struggle for this film. The first two day collections of Made In China are as follows.

Friday - 1,00,00,000 apprx

Saturday - 1,50,00,000 apprx

TOTAL - 2,50,00,000 apprx

Saand Ki Aankh has also done poor business though the film more than doubled on Saturday. The film had a very low starting point though it can tag along for a run in the big metros at low levels considering this growth. The collections of Saand Ki Aankh are as follows.

Friday - 50,00,000 apprx

Saturday - 1,25,00,000 apprx

TOTAL - 1,75,00,000 apprx

Made In China And Saand Ki Aankh Monday Business

Made In China showed huge growth on Monday with collections of 2.75 crore nett. The growth is actually more than Housefull 4 as it was hardly collectiing but despite the growth the occupancy remains low especially for a national holiday. The film was released on around 1200 screens and these sort of collections on a big holiday are nothing despite the growth.  The first four day collections of Made In China are as follows.

Friday - 1,00,00,000 apprx

Saturday - 1,50,00,000 apprx

Sunday - 1,25,00,000 apprx

Monday - 2,75,00,000 apprx

TOTAL - 6,50,00,000 apprx

Saand Ki Aankh showed even more growth than Made In China but it is the same problem as collections are low for a national holiday. The film collected 3.25 crore nett on Monday and took its total to 5.75 crore nett. This film had a 1000 screen plus release and again its not a good return on a national holiday despite the growth. The film has a more targetted audience than Made In China as its mainly for metros but a film like Joker which is for metro only as well was doing far higher numbers on less than half the shows of this film and that too without the natonal holiday. The plus is the targetted audience in metros could give the film a little run which is not the case with Made In China which is not performing in metros but the numbers will hardly go anywhere. The collections of Saand Ki Aankh are as follows.

Friday - 45,00,000 apprx

Saturday - 1,10,00,000 apprx

Sunday - 95,00,000 apprx

Monday - 3,25,00,000 apprx

TOTAL - 5,75,00,000 apprx

There was a fight for shows for these two films with Housefull 4 but the collections show these films have got more shows than they actually deserve. Both combined have 6.50 crore nett on the biggest day of the year from over 2200 screens.
