She was crying inconsolably, tirelessly. Why?? Because her so called ex-lover Mr. Anurag Basu lashed out at her. He accused her of being characterless and immoral woman of low stature. He and his whole family except the patriarch Moloy Basu and Anupam blamed her for a mistake in their words a sin which se hadn’t even committed. Mistake of sleeping with Mr. Bajaj when she was engaged to Anurag. That day she had when to her gynaecologist as a regular check-up and came back home. But she unfortunately left her medical file on the table which was caught hold of by Mohini Basu who looking for such an opportunity to humiliate her started spewing her hatred openly followed by Nivedita Basu, she believed Anurag would support her but no instead he spoke more ill about her and called her the biggest mistake of his life. Though Anupam tried reasoning and defending her he was shunned by the other three. They continued berating her but Kukki came and Prerna got her escape in her name. These accusations broke her heart in billions of shards but she didn’t let Kukki see her like this. But these accusations made her realise one thing the people for whom she sacrificed so much didn’t deserve it even a cent percent. For whom she gambled her whole life didn’t have an ounce of respect or trust for her words. A knock on the door brought her out of her trance. He was there standing in his all glory a small smile playing at his lips which instantly turned into a frown looking at her puffy red eyes. “Prerna…”he spoke in his soft but husky voice saddened at her state but confused at the same time. If not in love they both had developed a relation of trust and respect in the initial stage which later turned into unbreakable bond of friendship. They became friends who always confided into each other. Though Rishabh wasn’t still comfortable to talk about his past and childhood but there was a sense of comfort while talking with each other. They would sit with Kukki and be amused at her cute antics with no awkwardness between them. Now back to present,” Prerna….” he again called out louder than before bringing her out of her reverie. seeing him in front of her she crashed into him crying out loud. He was stunned at first. In their relationship whenever she needed to be comforted, he initiated the hug but today…. Something was definitely not Right. “Prerna, dear what happened? What tenses you my dear that you are crying so inconsolably. “he asked gently as if speaking to a child.She didn’t reply at first but then after crying for a few moments she spoke up or rather stammered “Mr. Bajaj…. he…he acc…accused me…. of…. of sleeping with………yo…. You”she again crashed into his chest seeking the comfortable warmth it provided. He was livid. Livid was maybe an understatement to what extent his anger was but he controlled his anger because he had to console her, he had to comfort her so that her stress doesn’t affect heir child inside her womb. He didn’t ask her who he was because he knew it was Mr Basu. “calm down Prerna. Stop crying dear.Stop wasting these pearls for those people who don’t deserve them. These pearls are very precious for Kukki….” leaving the sentence midway he saw her. She fell asleep in his arms tired of today's accusation. “and also, me…” he concluded to her sleeping figure. He picked her up in his arms and laid her on the bed. Staring at her peaceful face and caressing her hair he promised himself in mind that the people who were responsible for her this condition had face the wrath of Rishabh Bajaj because she was Prerna Rishabh Bajaj. The queen of the Bajaj industries where he was the king. His queen. And when you target the queen you become the target of the king. Watch out Anurag Basu you have messed with the wrong person. He thought leaving her to make a few calls.
