In an interview with one Pakistani blogger Farhan Virk who calls himself a part of ‘Team IK’ (Team Imran Khan), the former Pakistani High Commissioner to India, Abdul Basit has revealed that he managed to influence ’eminent’ journalist Shobhaa De to write an article on Kashmir in the aftermath of terrorist Burhan Wani’s death. The relevant bits of the interview can be watched here:

The article Abdul Basit was referring to presumably was written by Shobhaa De in July 2016. The articlewas titled ‘Burhan Wani is dead but he’ll live on till we find out what Kashmir really wants’. The article could only be accurately described as serving as a defence for Kashmiri Jihad. De even calls for a referendum on the matter, a pivotal Pakistani talking point.

At one point in the conversation, Basit mentions, “One of the challenges I had faced was how to find a journalist who we can convince to write a good article on behalf of us, advocating a referendum in Kashmir. Then I found a lady, Shobha De…”

These anti nationals won't be spared in countries like america for inciting hate against their own country. Only in india they are tolerated. In the name of FOE , you just can't just instigate people and cause more hate.  There should be strong laws against anti national comments . Democracy doesnt means u dont have responsibility  towards your own country and if you are public figures, u cant just spread hate. We need strong laws. Criticism and spreading hate and inciting violence are different.

If u r getting funded by the country which cause terrorism in your own country, then the action is necessary for such people.  Bcoz that deserves severe punishment. In the name of democracy , one cant walk away from anti national sentiments and hate. Epecially if u r favouring the country which causes terrorism in your homeland over your own  homeland. Period!.

I think India is the only country where it's citizens would write any rubbish against their own country and get away with it. On the top of that, calling out slogans like "Bharat Tere tukde honge" and at the same time abusing the govt, they would still cry that there is no freedom of expression. These are scumbags of highest order.

And then there are people who would support their agenda. People are like the current govt is intolerant. Bhai inko itni simple baad b samaj nahi aati k govt k against bolna aur country ka against bolna are two entirely different things. So much for intolerance. BS!

In the United States, criticism of the government and the president is normal but no one writes anything against the country , they wear their pride on their sleeve. Country always comes first, no false propaganda and false news reporting as they may get sued.

In India, its sad that people celebrating India's defeat in sports or people spreading false news propagating riots is pretty common. It comes right at the top from the politicians who for their personal gain, end up turning up " as an ally" to countries who want to attack us.

Then come the journalists who have completely lost it.

Can she be booked under sedition law? Writing against the country which can possibly cause disruption in exchange from an entity that is hostile to India cannot come under FOE..Need of the hour is to crack down the source of funding of entities working in India but against it and take action

Jammu & Kashmir is India;s  thats it. there's an LOC in place the division are there for all to see. Now they be just clinging onto whatever stupid thing they can find even if its someone as useless as Shobha De.  You just got to focus on your own country now instead of worrying about something which is not under your control. How hard is it to understand this simple logic
