JABARIYA JODI MOVIE REVIEW: SIDHARTH MALHOTRA GIVES HIS BEST, BUT THE MOVIE IS MESSEDAugust 8, 2019
In a scene, Parineeti Chopra’s character says, ‘isse kehte hai jabariya jodi, aur ispe 2 ghante ki picture bhi banaye hai’.Well, writer Sanjeev K Jha and director Prashant Singh have come up with a 2 hour 23 minutes film, but they forgot that a movie requires a good story, if not great at least a decent screenplay and a good narration.
Jabariya Jodi starts on a very promising note and has a decent first half. There are scenes and especially dialogues that will make you laugh. But then, in the second half, the movie goes haywire. A lot of things are happening that are actually not required and it makes us wonder if the film actually needed to be stretched so much. The second half ruins the film. The screenplay is dragged and after a point the movie becomes boring.
The climax of Jabariya Jodi looks like a movie from the 80s or 90s. All the villains come together, the hero is facing all the goons single-handedly that too with a bullet shot on his shoulder. The heroine, who in the whole film had a very strong character to play, suddenly just cries in the climax and does nothing when the hero is being punched by the goons. Oh sorry, when the fight is about to get over, she hits the bad guy once. Phew, Finally!
Talking about performances, I would like to start with Parineeti Chopra. The actress has given one of the weakest performances of her career. This wasn’t a different character that Parineeti has played. We have seen her playing such roles earlier, and she even impressed us in those films, but in Jabariya Jodi, Parineeti disappoints. Also, Parineeti’s styling in the film is not up to the mark.
The star of the movie is Sidharth Malhotra. He has performed really well, and we can see that he has put in a lot of efforts to give his best in the film. From his look in the movie to the way he talks, Sidharth nails it as the Bihari babu. Parineeti and Sidharth’s jodi looks good and their chemistry is one of the highlights of the film. Aparshakti Khurana is amazing in the film. Watch out for the shayaris that he mouths in the movie. Sanjay Mishra, Jaaved Jafferi and Chandan Roy Sanyal are good in their respective roles. Sheeba Chaddha is such a talented actress, but she has been wasted in this film.
Well, there’s one department where the film scores high and that is the music. The songs in the film are entertaining. Zilla Hilela and Dhoonde Akhiyaan impress us a lot.
Overall, Jabariya Jodi could have been a better film, if the second half was strong and if Parineeti acted well. However, if you are a Sidharth Malhotra fan then you should watch this film at least once.

From reviews it look like it's fun breezy movie on likes of bareilly ki barfi and lukachipi...but bcz of release date it will be a disaster , everyone is praising one liners and Sid.
