Year 2019-20 will witness the release of popular sequels and remakes in Bollywood as currently in the list we have movies like Pati Patni Aur Woh, Love Aaj Kal, Dostana, Bhool Bhulaiyaa, etc which are all set to get reprised or remade which has got the fans super excited.
And as soon as Karan Johar announced Dostana 2 with Kartik Aaryan and Janhvi Kapoor, Rajkumar Rao's probable entry in the film trended for many days. But recently the actor refuted these rumours as he was quoted by Pinkvilla "No, I am not doing Dostana 2 and neither Shubh Mangal Zyaada Saavdhan."
Now, if the recent reports are believed Rao preferred three films instead of one and said no to Dostana 2 because he wants to do more challenging roles rather than just a Masala potboiler. Karan is a huge fan of Rao's work and wanted to cast him in a series of movies starting off with Dostana 2, Bhoot Part 2 and an unnamed project.
A trade source close to Deccan Chronicle said, "But Rao didn’t want to pick up a film like Dostana 2 at this juncture in his career, even though he has fabulous comic timing. He was keen on doing films that were a little more challenging for him as an actor, rather than just be a part of a masala potboiler. Since Karan had offered him a three-film deal, he agreed to it and an official announcement is expected to be made at the earliest."
Rajkummar who made his debut with Love Sex Aur Dhoka later impressed the audience with films like Shahid, Citylights and Aligarh. The actor has been in demand post the release of Stree which also starred Shraddha Kapoor.
