I love all the old hindi movies mentioned on this thread...I love the way director's like Hrishikesh can take even simple things and build comedy around it...For ex the following scene:

Watch from 2:00 onwards...🤣

Watch Dhamaal. It is really good comedy movie.

Another one is Golmaal- first part. It is best among the 4.
Old Hera Pheri- Vinod Khanna and AB
Padosan
Tere Ghar ke Saamne
Nayi Padosan- I like this one though all the actors were, they were good. I watched it long back.

Somebody recommended AK's Khatta Meetha- the new one. There is less comedy and more tragedy.

Nayi padosan was hilarious. I liked it. I have watched that movie quite few times in the past.

And agree, New Khatta Meetha -- is stupid and sad. Few LOL scenes here n there but later half gets real sad. Ending is so tragic.

Hi 5 for Henry Cavill. He's dreamy! . Though i wish he'd never gotten into the Superman franchise. He was sooo good in Man from Uncle. I think he'd make a great Bond but I don't want him to play Bond. They're not my fav kind of movies anyway.

Talking about Brit comedy, I absolutely love the olden golden My Fair Lady! A romcom built around a professor's frustration over people butchering his favorite English language...🤣

I wish there was a Love or Adore button on If. Like doesn't do justice Chupke Chupke is an eternal favorite. My bro and I insert dialogues from this movie into everyday conversations! And watch in delight at the bewildered looks around us. 😃
I think what works is the performances and the chemistry between the actors. And the script of ccourse. Perfect pick me up for gloomy days

Agree with everything you said...this and the old Golmaal are my go to when I need a pick me up...

@bold:That reminds me of how my brother and I picked up the 'shudh' language thingy after watching this movie...We would challenge each other of speaking without mixing up languages and the comedy that would ensue (and also the silly arguments and fights😆), used to be some scene...Sigh..woh bachpan ki yaadien!

My Fair Lady is my fav musical.. Along with Sound of music. I never looked upon it as a comedy though the songs (the lyrics ) are really witty and funny. What I enjoyed most is Rex Harrison talk-singing his way through it all. Classic !

The songs are witty and funny and even the situations and the way (H)enry (H)iggins insults everyone around him in an unapologetic manner over the silliest of the things, his high and mighty nature, his whole persona- everything was comic (and also romantic- I mean who wouldn't have fallen for such an adorable snob❤️)

I loved his friend also and also Eliza's dad...😆

Of course, Classics they are indeed ! ⭐️
