Pay disparity happens in a lot of fields. Even
in the film industry, the actresses don't get
paid as much as the actors get. Several
actresses have raised their voice against this
difference in pay and demanded equal fees.
However, even after the topic being
discussed openly, there seems to be no
change in the way actors and actresses are
paid in Bollywood.
As reported by IANS, at an event recently,
Kajol spoke about the pay disparity. The
actress said, "I think that issue (pay
disparity) has to do with box office
collections to a big extent and there is
gender issue for sure, but if you see, no
single actress film can do Rs. 500 crore
business the way a Salman Khan film does at
the box office. Actresses over the years have
been an integral part in the success of a film,
but after all, it's a business."
The Fanaa actor further agreed that there is
gender discrimination in the film industry
and stated that the pay structure has to
change.
Meanwhile, on the work front, Kajol will be
next seen in Helicopter Eela in which she will
be seen as a single mother. Directed by
Pradeep Sarkar, the film also stars Riddhi
Sen as Kajol's son. Helicopter Eela is
produced by Ajay Devgn and it is slated to
release on October 12, 2018. After a gap of
3 years, Kajol will be seen in a Hindi film.
Do you agree with Kajol with her views on
pay disparity? Tell us your thoughts in the
comments section.

Which film of Salman did 500 crore? And what is the highest collection of a Salman Khan film without a top heroine in it?

Salman has 3 films grossing over 500cr worldwide. She didn't mean domestic collections anyway

Which ones? Did they not have a top heroine in it? Did they not release during holidays?

She's right about bringin the buck in no doubt. But at the same time you had a useless boring tier 4 actor with no player build or badges like Imran Khan getting paid more than Kareena and other veteran established actress which is absurd

This is just ridiculous argument.   ... Bring in the khans and make everything invalid

When i think abt pay disparity i automatically exclude the khans ... Not bec of their gender but bec their stardom is literally unparalleled ... So comparison with the khans pay is beyond stupid ...

. But for all other actors why not... Even the top stars in 30s ranveer, ranbir, varun, etc the pay structure is distorted even when their leading ladies were more popular than them ...
