Will Mahesh Bhatt resurrect Aditya Roy Kapur's career?.

Mahesh Bhatts Sadak 2 will be a litmus test
for several careers. Not only is Mahesh Bhatt
making a comeback to direction after 19
years, his daughter, Pooja Bhatt returns to
acting after a huge hiatus. Would Sadak 2
resurrect these careers?
As for Sanjay Dutt, he has not had a success
since his return from incarceration. But the
career that needs the optimum push right
now is that of Aditya Roy Kapur. After a
spectacular impact in Aashiqui 2, Aditya's
career has gone downhill at a rapid pace.
Apparently, there was a debate among the
Bhatt's whether to cast Ranbir Kapoor
alongside Alia Bhatt as the second pair in
Sadak 2.
Says a source in the know, "It was Alia's
idea to persuade her father to return to
direction with Sadak 2 . While Sanjay Dutt
and Pooja Bhatt, the original lead pair from
Sadak, were a given, it was the other pair
that the Bhatt's mulled over. While Ranbir
Kapoor was the obvious first choice
opposite Alia, the languishing Aditya Roy
Kapur finally bagged the part. Mahesh
believes his career can be revived.

This film is being made to elevate Alia. The rest are just show pieces

Aditya himself never looked like he cared about his career. Why would anyone else? Sad! He was the best looking and most talented actor from the new lot!Edited by grumpydwarf - 5 years ago

Mahesh Bhatt himself said that Sanjay convinced him to direct it because without Mahesh's directions he wouldn't have done the movie. Bhatt also spend most of his interview about Sadak2 talking about Sanjay Dutt. Aditya probably won't have much of a role here.

What I find interesting is that Alia's PR is doing this when it's her own family's production. Or given the Ranbir Kapoor mention maybe it's his PR.

First let Mahesh Bhatt resurrect his own career.

It was the way Bhatt narrated the story that made Alia feel that no other director could direct Sadak 2. "When I heard the story, I told him what Sanju had already said, that I cannot do this film if you are not directing it. I was not just in tears, but I was sobbing and shaking at the end of it. He put up the most creative narration that I have heard in my life with the music and the beats. It was so earnest that it broke my heart. Sanju recently told me, Alia you don't know what you are getting into. You have no idea what it is to be directed by your father'. At the shoot of the picture with the cast, I got a glimpse of it. And to tell you the truth, I am scared for my life because if that's the kind of emotional journey that we are going to go on for I don't know how many odd days, I think I may just end up being born again.
