The producers of Kedarnath have filed a case against its female lead Sara Ali Khan over alloting their locked dates to the producers of Simmba. Re-allotment of locked dates given to another producer is a well-known practice in Bollywood but very few have ever raised objections.

A vacation bench of Justice S J Kathawalla heard the producer's counsel Hitesh Jain who pleaded urgency. The court posted the matter for a hearing today. Sara Ali Khan's talent management company and agent have also been party to the case.

The whole case also hinges on another issue: the much touted debut of Sara Ali Khan which is the primary marketing push for the film. If all the allotted dates of Kedarnath is allotted to Simmba, then the latter becomes the debut vehicle of Sara Ali Khan.

Verified account @SoumyadiptaThe debut of a star-kid always gets more attention than the second film. Marketing research also shows that the interest might wane away from a star kid after the first film but it always remains at the peak during the debut or the launch.

Hence, getting Sara Ali Khan to debut with a banner is a huge marketing push. The producers are effectively complaining that if Simmba is finished earlier than Kedarnath then Sara's debut will be hijacked which will affect the business of Kedarnath. All eyes on the court now

The fate of two films and a star kid now hangs in a balance.
