Sahil Vedika TS: I belong to you COMPLETE part 3 pg4

A big thanks to all the friends in IF who motivated me to write 🤗... so here goes the story, hope you like it. Let me know what you think.

It was Holi, a time to be happy. But Vedika was anything but happy, she was in no mood to celebrate. Her marriage was called off, a few days earlier and she was grateful for her lucky escape. Trouble was, it has also gotten tongues wagging, enough for all and sundry to start talking about her character or the lack of it once again!

Her reverie was broken with Maya's call, "Vedika, Vedika, where are you?

Vedika turned to find Maya in the hall, with a glass in her hand "Vedi, you can't continue to sulk like this... The fact that your marriage did not happen is a disguised blessing. I cannot imagine Arya and you living with that psycho. Thank God, Sahil came at the nick of time and stopped you from making the worst decision of your life!

The very mention of Sahil brought a strange pang in Vedika, her breath caught. She felt an urge to see and feel him around her, for having him around always made her feel safe, cared and protected. Strangely...she did not want this comfort, She was terrified of the very thought of he becoming her habit slowly but strongly.

Her life has been a constant battle for years now and Sahil is becoming a habit that's becoming hard to break with every passing day. How many times has he come to her rescue, ended up saving her? He was just a 24 years old boy who kept emphasising that he was in love with her. She did not want to think about that part anymore... it disturbed her and made her totally irrational. She was his elder, it was upto her to show him the right path. But the process ended up getting her closer to him, making her realize that he was not the irresponsible scoundrel that she had assumed him to be.

Maya once again broke in to her thoughts, "Ok enough of this depressing topic, today is Holi, your marriage is luckily over and its happy times ahead. About time that you stopped sulking and have a little fun. I know you are not going to come play colours so here, have this badam milk instead and celebrate."

"Maya? Since when did you start offering me drinks during Holi? Are you sure this is just badam milk? Are you feeding me baang by any chance?", asked Vedika suspiciously.

"Like really, Vedi, after all that you have been through, do you really think I will be playing a prank on you and now?" Maya asked, pretending to be hurt but, keeping her fingers crossed and offering a silent prayer to God for her lie. That seemed to convince Vedika. She drank the milk but her thoughts about Sahil failed to cease. She seemed to have no will over these thoughts, and these days most of her thoughts were filled by Sahil. She had to put an end to this, she is a 42 year old woman and Her worst fear was that she did not want to end up acting like a lovestruck teen. She had to get her respectability back in her neighborhood, maybe its time to stop her dependence on Sahil.

Maya caught her hand and walked her towards the main door, casually letting her know that Sahil was here to meet her... the minute Maya uttered "Sahil", Vedika became alert, she immediately guessed that she had been fed Bhaang and this was all a plan between the two. She was furious! Furious at Maya and Sahil for trying to get her to do the very things that she has been avoiding like plague. She was in no mood to acknowledge her feelings to anyone. Above all, furious with herself for drinking the baang and believing Maya. Vedika was starting to feel lightheaded she didn't know what was making her so, the baang or her anger. She started walking towards the yard to put an end to all this...

Sahil was high with excitement. He has finally managed to bring the true face of Gautam and had saved his Vedika ji from a horrible fate. He shivered thinking of what Gautam would have done to her emotionally and physically. Arya too was in danger with that creep. He admitted to himself, he was shattered when Vedika ji had left his house after asking him to find happiness with a girl his age. But nothing, nothing could really put a stop to his love for his Vedika. Like always, he tossed such heavy advice out the window and moved on to where he really should be, at her house, close to her. Thoughts about Vedika ji seemed to be more potent than the baang that he had just drunk. She may think what she wants to... but for him she was the only woman in this life and there can never be another, ever! If only his lady love would realize this fact.

God had really helped him save Vedika and her family at the right time. He offered some silent thanks. Sahil, seemed to be doing more talking to God these days. How else could he get the strength to counter all the actions and endless advice that Vedika ji was throwing at him. The more Vedika ji was saying NO' the more God seemed to be in favour of his love and the more he ended up being there for her. The thought brought another smile to his handsome face.

Vedika saw Sahil, he was smiling, she had not seen him smiling for what seemed like an eternity. Her mind wanted to the first time they met. How brash and boyish he was, with his sloppy grin. She missed his smile, she felt happy when he was happy. She froze and stopped her thoughts, the anger that had toned down came back with full force. She had enough complications in her life already and she did not want to add Sahil to the list.

Give an inch and Sahil would take a yard... he always seemed to, where she was concerned. She was always weak when it came to him and she could never manage to stay angry with him. When she hurt him, it always got to her with double to force. She could do nothing till the issue was resolved and she was assured that he was back to a semblance of normalcy. She promised to herself that today was going to be different, she is going to be blunt.

She was not taking any chances, nor was she going to give society an opportunity to cast aspersions on her character. How could people even think that she could fall in love with a 24-year-old boy? They could never have a life together... but, every time he confessed his loved to her, something seemed to break in her. She had stood rooted to the spot when he announced his love to her for the first time in a mike. Then hijacked her valentines date and asked her to marry him and fight society with him, in front of a restaurant full of curious and judgemental people. Both the times she has been stunned and rooted to the spot. It was the mike and Gautam that had come to her rescue to break her out of the trance that Sahil had put her in. She did not know what had even gotten into her? She was an emotional mess for days after that... She was not going to let that happen anymore. She would put an end to his childishness today, for once and for all.

Vedika started walking with Maya in tow to meet Sahil.

Sahil was smiling at his thoughts and was eagerly hoping to see if the baang would have any effect on his Vedika ji, will she let her true feelings for him show? Either ways, he was set to have some fun playing holi with her, his first with her... the feeling of celebrating their first festival together made him all mushy and warm. He saw Vedika ji coming from inside the house, walking towards him with a mild stagger, his breath caught, he hoped against hope to hear words of love from her.

I thought I would be able to complete the story with a romantic moment. But it is not easy to write romance gracefully. So thought of sharing something just before we hit climax. Give me a couple more days to give you a 16+ feelers but do not loose the grace of Vedika or deviate from the plot.

What followed, shattered his world, she minced no words, named him a stalker and accused him of lusting after her. But what really hurt him the most was when, she actually tried to remove her saree, to let him have his way with her and to let her go. That was when he lost it, totally, he was furious, he stopped her. How could she think of him, his love, as just lust... what did he even do to give her the idea? Along with the anger he felt a numbness spread within him... she had finally managed to defeat him. But he was not leaving her without getting things cleared.

"My love is not just physical. I could be happy with your presence in my life, the fact that you are next to me is enough to make me happy. I love you with all my heart and you equated it with lust.

"Vedika ji, you never understood my love... at all. He was on the verge of a breakdown... and he was hurt beyond tears, he started walking back, totally broken, deciding to give her what she wanted. He will not be a part of her life anymore. He could never live without her, but if this is what she thinks about him, then so be it. He felt empty, lifeless... but he was leaving her, respecting her wish.

Vedika knew that she had gone too far with her words and gesture the minute it happened. She could not endure the hurt she saw in Sahil's eyes. She always knew, what Sahil felt for her, but there was also no future there and the only way to stop him following her was to hit him where it hurt the most. But having hurt him, it was impossible for her to avoid being hurt, his feelings seemed to resonate in her heart, making it all the more unbearable, she had the sudden need to touch him, comfort him, do whatever it would to make things right, for both of them. If, she did not make things right she knew this would be the last time she would see him. That thought was enough to propel her, she instinctively rushed behind him and caught a hand, she was sure she would not let him leave like this.

"Sahil she whispered, in a voice that seemed reserved only for him. Her eyes were tear strained, she didn't know when she had started crying. He turned around, her eyes were trying to tell him what she could never tell him with words. She was asking him to not leave her, she was telling him she was sorry for what just happened. Her hand held his tightly in a vice like grip, like she would not let him leave never to come back again. She had to make sure he was ok first. They stood still in silence looking into each other's eyes. It suddenly flashed in her mind, how it was Holi today and he had come to play colors with her. She broke the eye contact and dragged him with her to the plate nearby, full of colors, she applied some on his cheeks and wished him happy Holi and slowly almost unwillingly, let his hands go, she knew he would come back. This was enough... for now.

His head hung down, as he turned to leave but he could sense her with him as he walked back home.

Vedika was desolate, she went through her day like a robot, the one thing that was a constant on her mind was Sahil and how much she had hurt him today. She shivered, remembering the look in his eyes before he left her. She had tried all that she could to get him to leave her, but every time she succeeded she ended up hurting him and lost the nerve to follow through. No! She did not want him to leave her like this, all hurt and broken. Never to have been able to see him again, alive and that scarred the hell out of her. It had happened before too, during her engagement with Gautam, when Sahil had started to leave she had intuitively stopped him with a gesture that he felt the very second it happened, without even having to look, he could sense her the way she could him. She remembered how she clung to him even in her dream, she had woken up screaming for him after the valentine's day, it had all felt so real. They were always connected that way and this connection seemed to be growing more intense with every passing day, that it was becoming more and more difficult for her to keep her distance with him. The closer Sahil came to her the harsher she was with him. She was afraid that one of these days she is not going to be able to hide her emotions anymore and would end up succumbing to his wishes; her thoughts and feelings are getting beyond her control. She was becoming an emotional wreck.

She imagined Sahil all alone at his home, heartbroken, crying silently, the thought made her sick with worry. She jumped out of the bed and started pacing up and down the room again. Why was all this happening to her? Why does Sahil want to give their relationship a tag of romantic love? That was so out of question, they were mismatched in every sense. She was too old for him to even have such thoughts and she being the elder also had the responsibility to show him the right path. The hurdles for such a relationship are endless, the society, family, the reasons seemed endless, unsurmountable.

But, after what happened today, she knew that he would not be able to survive the separation; neither would she. Still, her conduct was appalling and he ending up saving her from the world and herself.

Sahil was back at Agarwal Mansion, in his bed, where his family expected him to be. He had come home totally sloshed in bhaang, to the shock of the family, for once they let him go without lectures or questions. He fell into his bed, trying to sleep. If only he could sleep... all the bhaang in this world was not going to let him find an iota of peace. Sleep was a totally elusive commodity.

He was tossing around in bed thinking of all the things that his Vedika ji, had accused him off. He loved her, only her and there can be no one else for him in this life. He was a one woman man, and totally hers. She was his sun. He needed her for his sustenance and she was denying him that. How would he survive? When would she accept that he cannot belong to anyone but her? She ended up equating everything to lust. If only she would understand what she means to him. He could not sleep, he could not stay awake, he could not cry, he needed to get out of this house, everything seemed to be stifling him. He jumped out of the bed and staggered out to the road, it was pitch dark with not a soul around and he had no destination in mind. He got on his bike and started driving.

Yes... I am trying to incorporate romance... its not easy but I'll try 😆
