Chapter 8:

Khushi had tears streaming down her face. And then, Arnav began to speak.

"My mom was such a kind woman, but my dad, he hurt her a lot Khushi. He did something that hurt her so much, she killed herself Khushi. Said Arnav dejected. He didn't know why he was sharing with her, but something about her concern, or maybe it was the tears that formed in her eyes when she talked about her own mother. They compelled him to spill the truth to her. They made him utter a truth he never wanted to tell anyone. His mother had been hurt so much by his father that she killed herself.

Both Arnav and Khushi were soaked in tears. Arnav cupped Khushi's face. "Thank you Khushi. I feel a little better... Arnav said.

Khushi slightly smiled and got up to leave. But, Arnav grabbed her hand {Rabba Ve}. She turned to look at him holding her hand and he looked up. He pulled her hand enough so that she was sitting right next to him on the chaise lounge. Khushi looked surprised. Then, Arnav rested his head on her shoulder. "Just stay with me tonight. Please.

His request was so genuine that she couldn't deny him. She nodded slightly.

At AR the next day:

"ASR, someone is here to see you.

"Who?

"I don't know sir. He said he will only talk to you. He won't tell me his name.

"Okay, send him up.

"Arnav Malik. Came the familiar voice.

"Chachaji, what are you doing here? Why are you here? And my name is Arnav Si

"Yes, yes, Arnav Singh Raizada. I know. Aamir cut him off. "Anyway, I am here to tell you what future steps to take on your deal with MR Textiles. You want to fulfill your father's wishes. Don't you?

"I already told you over the phone! I have nothing to do with that man. I am not taking over MR Textiles.

"Well okay then, it's your choice--- there was a knock on the door.

"Sorry to disturb you sir, but your wife is here. She brought you lunch and your medications. Said Pam.

"Tell her to wait. I'm busy right now.

"Sorry, sir but she's coming behind me. I told her to wait, but she insisted. Just then, Khushi barged in.

"Arnavji, I brought you pasta and you medications.

"Khushi, I'm busy right now. I will eat later.

"Okay, but Arnavji, make sure you eat it.

"Arnav, why are you being so rude. Khushi beta, please have a seat. We were just talking. I am Arnav's distant relative. I should get to meet his wife too right?

"Uncleji, Khushi is busy. She has to leave. Arnav sneered. He didn't want his chacha anywhere near Khushi.

"No Arnavji, I don't have anything to do right now. I can sit for a little bit.

"So bitya, tell me about yourself. Where are you from?

"Ji, I am from Lucknow.

"Ah, Lucknow. Me too. That's how I know Arnav.

"Yes, and Khushi really has to leave now. Go Khushi! Arnav barked. Khushi a little angry obeyed. She didn't want to argue in front of guests'.

After she left, chacha continued talking. "So, Arnav, are you sure you don't want to consider that take over again?

"I'm sure! I don't want anything to do with you or my dead father ! Now leave.

"Not so fast Arnav, hear me out before you say no again.

Arnav couldn't believe what he just found out. His chacha had used his wife as a means of blackmail. Arnav was scared. He didn't know what to do, so he complied. He was going to work to take over MR Textiles. But, first he would have to meet with them. He called up Dhruv.

"Dhruv. It's ASR. I need to talk to you about something important.

"Yes Bhai, what did you want to talk to me about?

"I want to purchase MR Textiles, I want to make it apart of AR Group of Industries. Of course, I will pay whatever you want for it! So, how much do you want? In fact I'll give you double the worth of the business.

"Bhai, I respect you a lot, both as a businessman, and as a person, but I cannot do what you are asking me for. It's crazy! Look Bhai, there is more involved in this than just my decision. I mean I have to ask Dad, the board, Roger, my investors, and my business partners. I mean, I can't just give you the business.

"I understand that Dhruv, how about we have a meeting. Call all your investors and board members, and I will do the same for mine. And, ask Mamaji and your business partners too. Let's meet tomorrow at 4:30 okay?

"Bhai...

"Dhruv, let's just start by talking... said Arnav and hung up the phone. He didn't have a choice. He had to do this or else...or else his Chacha would destroy his wife's life. He couldn't imagine how hurt Khushi would be if she ever found out the truth.

"Chutki, there's a huge problem! Arnav wants this business.

"Then sell it to him Dhruv, you know how I feel about MR Textiles. I don't care.

"Khushi, you cannot get emotional! Our parents worked too hard for this business! We cannot just let it go! Look, I know how you feel. He wants to meet tomorrow to discuss this. If our investors say that this is a bad idea, they may start to pull out. We can use that as a way to avoid this takeover.

"Okay, Dhruv, do what you think is right.

"There's one more thing Khushi... Dhruv sighed and took a long pause "Our investors and board have stated that this meeting will only happen in the presence of both business partners.

"I can't

"You have to Khushi.

"How?

"Confidently!

"But...

"He deserves to know too Khushi. He deserves to know that you graduated Summa Cum Laude from Rutger's University with an BA in Professional Writing and Business Managament at age 18.

"I don't know. Just confirm the meeting, I'm not sure if I will be there though.

Sorry I went missing for so long lovelies! I have been swamped with assignments, exams, and I just got married so ;D

Both Arnav and Khushi need to come clean about what they are hiding.
