Today's episode was so strange. The plot is starting to get convoluted and everyone seems to plotting against each other.
So this sparked a sort of silly thought in my head. I thought to share it with you guys as a spoof of what would happen on the wedding day of Kabir and Aanchal. I tried to incorporate some elements of a typical telly drama to make it funny, overdramatic, and kind of ironic. Hope you guys like it!
~~
Kabir sat at the mandap and waited impatiently for his bride to come down. "Why is Aanchal taking so long to get ready?" he wondered, "She's still going to be an aunty anyways. Besides, it's not like we're actually going to get married. Bechari, doesn't even know what humiliation is in store for her."
Finally after what seemed to be an eon, Aanchal was escorted to the mandap by his mom.
"That's strange," thought Kabir, "why is her ghughat so long, one wouldn't even know it was her...
Whatever, who cares?"
Ranvir looked at Aanchal and his mother suspiciously. His mother had been acting strange ever since Kabir and Aanchal's alliance had been fixed. She had suddenly become best of friends with Aanchal and her family, showering them with grand gifts and praising them in front of everyone. He had pretended everything was normal and had even praised his mom for her apparent change of heart and generosity. However, Ranvir wasn't a fool, he knew very well that his mother was up to something. He had just pushed his suspicions aside and had decided to deal with his mother after the wedding ceremonies were over. But when Sarika had insisted that she be the one to escort Aanchal down to the mandap, Ranvir had known that something was up. He brainstormed how to handle the situation, should he just allow the wedding ceremonies to continue, or should he have a word with Aanchal first and ensure everything was okay?
Before he could make a decision, Kabir stood up and started speaking, interrupting his thoughts. "Ruk jao Maa!"
Everyone turned and looked at Kabir. He walked towards Aanchal and then started laughing. Ranvir was confused, and by the looks on everyone else's faces, so were they.
Naina started panicking, "Oh no, what is Kabir doing? He's going to ruin the entire plan!"
~~
Flashback:
Kabir and Naina are relaxing in a hotel room.
"I can't wait to see the look on that NGO Aunty's face when I reject her at the mandap." Kabir said smugly.
Naina looked at Kabir.
"You know, I think you should marry her."
"What! Have you lost your mind Naina, me and that Aunty? Never!"
"It doesn't have to be a permanent marriage. You can always divorce her after. Abandoning her at the mandap will cause people to talk about her for a few days. But then as soon as another scandal happens, people will forget. If you marry her and then divorce her, she will have to carry the burden of being a divorcee for the rest of her life."
Kabir sipped some champagne as he contemplated what Naina had said.
"You're right. That's bloody brilliant! Why didn't I think of something like that?"
Naina smirked. Kabir had fallen right into the trap she had laid for him.
~~
Present:
Or had he? Maybe not, because by the looks of it Kabir wasn't going to marry his bride after al.
Kabir stopped laughing and looked at Aanchal. Unfortunately he couldn't see her face through the ghunghat, but he could imagine how confused she must be.
"Aanchal, did you really think that I, the Kabir Raichand, would marry you? Of course ... not! I was just trapping you in my love so that I could get revenge for what you did with my bade. And you Ms. Stupid NGO Aunty fell right into my trap."
He laughed some more.
"Everyone!" Kabir called to the guests, "there is no wedding happening here today, all of you can go home."
Aman walked upto Kabir and grabbed him by the collar. "Who do you think you are?" he demanded.
Kabir smirked and pushed Aman off of him. "I am Kabir Raichand, part owner of the Raichand Group of Industries. Who are you?"
Aman looked down, realizing that these people were much bigger than him and that he really couldn't do anything now. He really wished his sister had listened to his warnings earlier.
Kabir spoke again, "Anyways, I should get going, I've wasted too much time at this venue already."
"Kabir wait!" Sarika called, "you can't turn away from Aanchal like this. You promised her you would marry her. Raichand's don't break promises!"
Kabir frowned, now it was his turn to be confused.
"Seriously mom? Just a few days ago you were completely against having Aanchal as your daughter-in-law and now you're supporting her? Did you forget how she threw Bade in jail and disrespected you?"
"I haven't forgotten anything Kabir. But it seems like you've forgotten what I had taught you."
"No mom, I remember very well, you taught me that when you try to get someone else dirty, your own hands get dirty in the process. And that's why I didn't tell you about my plan beforehand. Look mom, I don't want to argue, I am not marrying Aanchal and that is final!"
Kabir started walking towards the door, ready to leave.
"KABIR!" Ranvir yelled! "Stop right there!"
Kabir stopped in his tracks and looked at Ranvir fearfully. Ranvir had never yelled at Kabir before. This was serious.
"Kabir, you have two options, either you go back to the mandap and get married to Aanchal, or I will marry her."
"Bhai, why are you getting so serious?" Kabir asked cautiously.
"Because Kabir this is about a woman's respect and I will not let you mess with Aanchal's respect. So either you go and sit at the mandap or I will."
"No no, Ranvir beta, there is no need for you to marry Aanchal, Kabir will come. Right Kabir? You will listen to your mom, right?" Sarika asked.
~~
Flashback:
Sarika and Naina are sitting at a cafe.
"Naina beta, listen to me carefully. On the day of the wedding I will hire men to kidnap Aanchal half an hour before the wedding, you will need to get into the venue in disguise, and get ready with a ghughat over your face. And then I will make sure to personally come and escort you to the mandap so that you don't get caught." Sarika instructed Naina
"Yes Sarika Aunty," said Naina.
"Not Aunty, you can call me Maa, now" Sarika said smiling at Naina.
Naina nodded and smiled back at her.
~~
Present:
"I can't let Ranvir marry Naina," Sarika thought to herself, "I have to find some way to convince Kabir."
Kabir looked at his mom and then his brother. "Mom, Bade, I am NOT going to marry Aanchal, and that is my final decision! You guys should be happy that I'm only abandoning her at the mandap. If I had wanted I could've married her and then divorced her to ruin her life forever, but I didn't do that!"
Ranvir walked up to Kabir and slapped him across the face. The sound of the slap startled everyone. "I can't believe my brother, could even think up something as low as that!" Ranvir exclaimed while shaking his head.
"It wasn't my idea Bade, it was Naina's! I had told her about abandoning Aanchal at the mandap and she had suggested I do something more permanent. But I'm not that bad, that I would ruin someone's life like that. And, and, even the idea of leaving Aanchal at the mandap wasn't my own. One of our company lawyers gave me that idea. All I had wanted to do was ruin her reputation for ruining ours!"
"Oh crap," Naina thought to herself under her ghunghat, "Kabir has exposed me!"
"Kabir, you know what, just get out of here," Ranvir said to his brother, "I don't even want to see your face."
Ranvir turned away from his brother and started walking towards who he thought was Aanchal.
Kabir and Sarika both tried stopping him, but in vain.
"Ruk jaaye, Ranvirji!" Aanchal's mom called out, finally breaking her silence. "I appreciate that you're willing to marry my daughter and make up for your brother's ... rejection. However, my daughter has self-respect and can stand up for herself. You don't need to bestow your alliance on her, she will be perfectly fine without it."
Ranvir looked at Aanchal's mom thoughtfully and nodded. "You're right aunty, but why don't we ask Aanchal what she wants instead of deciding for her?"
Ranvir continued walking towards the bride and put his hands on her shoulder. "I apologize on behalf of my brother for his rude and disrespectful behaviour Aanchal. Please let us know what you would like to do and if there is anything we can do to amend his mistakes." Ranvir lifted the veil and what he saw shocked him, and everyone else in the room.
"Naina? What are you doing here?" Ranvir questioned.
Kabir was extremely puzzled, what was Naina doing in Aanchal's place when she knew all about his plan?
"Wait a minute!" Kabir exclaimed, "so that's why you convinced me to marry and then divorce Aanchal, so that you can take her place and marry me instead?"
Naina panicked, "It wasn't my plan, I just did whatever Sarika Aunty told me to!"
"Mom?" Ranvir looked at his mother disgusted.
"No, she's lying, I didn't even know that Kabir was going to abandon Aanchal in the mandap, if I had known I wouldn't have told Naina to take her place!" Sarika said.
"If this is Naina, where is my sister?!" Aman demanded.
"Maa!" Came a voice from the entrance of the venue.
"Aanchal?!" Aanchal's mom looked at her daughter and ran towards her and hugged her. Aman also ran behind his mother. "Beta are you okay, who did this to you?"
"Some goons kidnapped me when I was getting ready and took me to their godown. I don't know who they were, but when they weren't paying attention, I escaped and came here as fast as I could. I don't know who hired those goons to kidnap me, but they were taking orders from someone on the phone."
"It was Sarika Raichand," Aman informed her, "she kidnapped you so that Kabir would marry Naina instead of you."
"What?" Aanchal looked at Aman surprised.
"And not only that, Kabir was all set to abandon you at the mandap so that he can avenge you for sending Ranvir to jail. I told you that he was trapping you in his fake love!"
Aanchal looked at Kabir and then Sarika, and then Ranvir, and finally back to her brother. She just felt so confused. And then she fainted.
Seeing her faint, Ranvir rushed towards her and scooped her up in his arms. "Papa, call the doctor!" he said as he brought her into the venue and put her onto one of the sofas.
The doctor showed up after Aanchal had already regained consciousness. He did a checkup and announced that she was over exhausted and needed rest.
After the doctor had left, Aanchal's mom spoke, "Well, we should get going, it's getting quite late. Come on Aanchal, Aman, let's go."
"I'll drop you guys home," Ranvir said.
"That won't be necessary," Aanchal's mom said sternly, "we can manage on our own."
Aman helped Aanchal up and the three of them left the venue.
Ranvir sighed. He looked first at his mother and then his brother, shook his head and then left. Jatin followed behind Ranvir.
Kabir turned to his mother, "Seriously mom, couldn't you trust me when I had said I wanted to marry Aanchal? You ruined my whole plan by bringing Naina into the picture."
Sarika looked at Kabir, "Don't blame me Kabir! How was I supposed to know you were planning all of this when I had specifically taught you not to play games like these which make your own hands dirty?"
"And you?" Kabir turned to Naina, "You knew everything didn't you, then why didn't you tell me what mom was planning?"
"Oh no," Naina thought "I am trapped between this mother and son."
"Because Sarika Aunty told me not to tell you, and you told me not to tell Sarika Aunty. That's why I told you to get married to Aanchal, because I knew you would be marrying me not her!"
Suddenly Naina's phone rang. It was her boyfriend, Naina panicked.
Kabir seeing the fear on Naina's face grabbed the phone from her hand and put it on speaker.
"Hello Naina, have you gotten married to Kabir? You know how badly I need those 5 crores! I promise, once we get our hands on that money you can divorce Kabir and we can get married. Hello? Naina?"
Kabir cut the phone angrily. "So this was your plan, to deceive us for 5 crore rupees? And you mom? You wanted me to marry her, seriously?" He threw her phone and walked away angrily.
"Kabir beta, at least listen to me!" Sarika called as she followed her son.
"Great, my whole plan has been ruined," Naina said to herself frustrated, "Kabir will never marry me now!"

The next day:
Ranvir hadn't gotten a wink of sleep at night because he had been too busy worrying about Aanchal. She must be heartbroken after what Kabir did to her and the news reporters wouldn't stop at anything to character assassinate her. He turned on the news expecting to see a story about Kabir and Aanchal. But it wasn't what he had expected. "Kabir Raichand and Sarika Raichand make plans to play an innocent middle-class girl; end up playing themselves instead" Ranvir sighed, he didn't know whether he should be happy or sad with the news story. "How am I going to get my family out of this mess now?" He wondered to himself.
