Hey guys!!

Bollywood has an array of female characters and I have always wondered what characteristics should she pose to be an ideal female protagonist (in other words an ideal heroine). And then I thought what better place to get more opinions than this forum! 😊

So I ask you to describe the qualities and characteristics that, for you, would be in your ideal female protagonist.

Much love,
M.

I don't have any ideal heroine per se but I enjoy when the female protagonist is shown as a imperfect messy person with lot of heart :) They are very easy to relate. Not the preachy depiction like Dear Zindagi Kiara kind...but genuinely imperfect and not looking for some acceptance/Validation from some x y or z.

My most favorite female protagonist is Naina from Kal Ho na Ho...fiery but not meany, emotional but not melodramatic, Practical but dreamy,Mature but still child at heart, Has a big heart and the best kind of imperfect.❤️

Recently guess Piku was that kind of layered character. These kinda characters i relate to on personal level 😳

nice topic 👍🏼

^^ the best thing about Piku was it almost felt that there was no storyline. There wasn't an 'end goal' of the film which is why it just felt so real and DP played that role to perfection! It just seemed like any normal person kinda going with the flow! IDK how to explain it.
OMG NAINA! loved her! Though I do wish to see a film like that where the female protagonist moves on on her own accord due to not being loved back, not because the one she loves is dying from something. I want to see her make that decision on her own.

Ikr Piku is the most relatable character in recent times...The best thing about piku is she does what she wants to and is unapologetic about it and happily uses it to manipulate to get her way 😆 i wish i was more articulate to describe a character like Piku. We see so many Piku's around us and yet different in their own way, honestly juhi chaturvedi is amazing writer.

@bold that would be amazing, naina moving on her own accord but i guess the important thing naina learns from Aman is to let things go...she was so hung up on her father's death, she never let go his death truly and aman taught her how important it is to move on to have a happy life, so if not for aman's death don't think it wouldve made much impact to audience

Hey!

Thanks for your view! Loved to read them, and I completely agree with you on this!
Kiara in DZ was a very realistic portrayal, very relatable for a woman of today's generation

And Naina was one of the first characters in mainstream Hindi cinema with whom I could actually identify with! She was never a damsel in distress, even though there were two male leads in the film, Naina remains a central character and is equally important! Such a strong character.

And thank you 😊

Thank you both for sharing your views! It was a pleasure to read them! And I agree with the things both of you mentioned! I think Naina is one of the first characters people from this generations who re in their 20's to 30's now, could really relate to!
