After giving us a sneak peek into Hrithik Roshan's gorgeous ocean-themed abode, architect and interior designer Ashiesh Shah is back to take us on a tour of the home of another star client: Aditya Roy Kapur. As the house of one of Bollywood's most eligible bachelors, Kapur's bachelor pad lives up to the movie star standards that are expected of it. It gives off a stylish yet laid back vibe that one has come to associate with the actor himself.

Kapur admits that when he moved in to make the space his own, he left behind a view of the sea and ample sunlight for a view of the city. While it is hard for anyone to imagine who would choose buildings in the distance over a front row seat at Mumbai's coveted coastline, a look at his home provides all the explanation you need.

Though you'll discover a whole lot more when you tune into Fox Life India at 10 pm tonight to watch the entire episode of Design HQ, which features Aditya Roy Kapur's home, here's a glimpse of what you will be looking forward to.

The living room

There's a beautiful piano in Kapur's living room a gift from his mother which he is yet to learn how to play. But that's not what grabs your attention when you walk in. The most interesting piece of furniture and, according to Ashiesh Shah, the reason why the living room needed so much "figuring out is the actor's pool table.

Kapur was advised by family and friends and especially Ashiesh to not have the pool table in his home. A "waste of space is what most called it, warning him that he'd be bored of it in three months. But Kapur remained firm on his decision because of the little known connection he has to the game. As it turns out, he spent a lot "a little too much of his youth playing pool and plans to continue playing it for as long as his eyes stay sharp.

How he got the pool table is the story of another adventure. Hint: It involves Kapur travelling to Bhiwandi and an unexpected photo op in a family's living room. Don't worry, you'll find out when you watch Design HQ.

The man cave

If a middle-aged man in a dim room illuminated by the light of late night TV is what you picture when you hear the word den', you couldn't be more wrong. Though Kapur admits to indulging in his TV watching in there, and says he ends up eating in the den more often than not, it is possibly the most happening room of the house; and since every happening room does need its own piece of statement furniture, Kapur decided to place a long, red couch in it. No, not the usual toned down, deep maroon leather couches you see the ones that match the leather that binds old books together but a proper, bright red couch. A red that, says Kapur, elicits instant love/hate reactions. But for the owner of said couch, it was clearly love at first sight.

"So the story has two parts, confesses Kapur, "One is when I fell in love with couch, not because of the colour, because of its shape. The actor says the couch looked very long in the photograph when he saw it and, considering how tall he is, felt that it would be a comfortable surface to lounge on. But, when he saw it, it happened to be much smaller in real life. Though Kapur had been furniture catfished, he decided to make it work because the colour "the redness just got him.

In fact, he loved the couch so much that he and Ashiesh got the walls repainted a deeper grey to make the room look bigger now that a large red splash of colour needed to be accommodated.

Kapur's man cave also features a bar, which he says he did not place in the hall because the pool table was already there and he did not want to make his home look like "one arcade of like debauchery. Clearly a practical interior choice that a bachelor must make.

The bedroom

Though it took some persuasion on Ashiesh's part to let the cameras into the bedroom, we're still unsure whether his efforts yielded any results. But what we can tell you is why Aditya Roy Kapur has an extra large king size bed in his bedroom, a furniture choice he attributes to having no bed in the guest room; before backtracking completely when Shah asked, "So guests sleep in your bed?

"I am 6 foot 2. It's 3 foot for a pillow, so it's cut-to-cut, Kapur attempted to coverup his slip with a ton of match. But Shah was not buying it and something tells us, neither will you. If you want more answers, you know what to do.

Find out what went into creating Aditya Roy Kapur's uber slick bachelor pad, what he'd steal from Ranbir Kapoor's house and more on Design HQ tonight. Design HQ airs 10 pm every Thursday on Fox Life India.
