Kangana Ranaut is the power house actress of Bollywood and she knows it. The actress, who is busy with a couple of interesting projects, Simran and ManikarnikaThe Queen of Jhansi spoke to a leading daily about her career and how she wants it to shape up.
Talking about Simran, Kangana said, "Simran is a comedy, not a biopic. I believe after Srideviji, I'm the only actress who's doing comedy... be it as Datto or even Tanu in Tanu Weds Manu Returns. Unfortunately, we don't have a lot of scope for female comedians. Raju sir (Raj Kumar Hirani) recently mentioned that he wants to make a film on a stand-up comedian."
Well, do you agree with Kangana on this one?
Simran is directed by Hansal Mehta and features Kangana Ranaut in the lead role. The film is scheduled for a worldwide release on 15 September. The movie was in the news recently for the tiff with writer Apurva Asrani. Apparently, Kangana has also contributed to the script of the movie and has been duly credited for it by the team. This did not go down well with Asrani, who was reluctant to share the credits with Ms Ranaut.
However, the team has put the whole incident behind them and are carrying on with the project. Kangana is the one who apparently gave the movie a comic tweak from a serious one and she couldn't be more excited for her fans to catch it on the big screen.
