We've been subjected to a lot of serious content on our television lately and now it was high time we were treated with something different; something that took off our minds from the hectic routines and seriousness of life and gave us a hearty laugh.

And so Wajahat Rauf and Yasir Hussain, the team that has given us some amazing projects; is all set to bring to our television screens, a new play with the same intention of recreating the magic of the light hearted, family content that used to air on channels a long time ago.

Shadi Mubarak will feature a stellar star cast and a light hearted romantic comedy story line that'll focus on spreading smiles and laughter all around.

Directed and produced by Wajahat Rauf with a screenplay by Yasir Hussain, Shadi Mubarak will be a family story focusing on loveable family ties and an amalgamation of emotions when a mother and son pit their wills against each other to marry the girl of their choice. Its going to be a fun filled, laughter induced, emotional ride, much different from the serious matters we've been seeing on screens lately.

"We've tried to bring in some fun elements to our screens in times like today where everyone is being bombarded with seriousness." Wajahat Rauf told HIP.

"With Bushra Apa, Salman Shahid, Sadia Faisal, Kubra Khan and Yasir Hussain amongst others, Shadi Mubarak will be a family drama with a lot of different elements to it. Unlike common speculations the drama isn't going to be all about a shadi only but rather how a shadi will be made to be done in a family." Wajahat added.

"It's like my mother and phuppo want to get me married to this girl but I'm already in love with another. And then unfolds a new story involving the entire family and some friends too," we were told by Yasir Hussain.

"It'll be a Punjabi family but we're not that loud so don't expect Bushra Apa to be anything like Saima Chaudhry. It'll be different. Not at all like the shadi series we've watched earlier." Yasir further added. "Its been a dream come true to work with Bushra Apa and Salman. Kubra has been a delight and we've pulled it off quite interestingly."

Seems like Shadi Mubarak is going to be one amazing drama with a star cast that is already making us look forward to the play. Kubra Khan is doing a different role for starters so that's another reason why we're anticipating Shadi Mubarak to begin.

The OST for Shadi Mubarak has been composed and sung by Wajhi Farooki from the band Raeth and is already a refreshing delight.

The drama is slated for a post Eid release on ARY Digital and expectations are quite high.
