Why was Rajiv Kapoor a failiure?

The youngest son of Raj Kapoor, why was he a failure, despite having good acting skills, good looks (very similar to Shammi Kapoor) why didn't producers cast him 

Don't know. Nobody can just single out any particular reason for someone's failure.

Agree about his good looks. I've always found very handsome & charming looking in the few films he had done in the 80's but he was a very bad actor TBH.Edited by NadanParindey - 6 years ago

I found him ugly and a non actor, so I can understand why he did not take off. But to each his own. 

They say his first movie was a super hit but people only remembered heroine's topless scenes

True. Minus the complexion. Shammi was much more fair than him.
