It seems like both Deepika and Priyanka have gotten an invite for the ball in NY. It's a pretty big deal.

No one gets "invited" to the Met gala unless they donate money. Even the museum employees have to donate in order to attend.

^Yep, you have to pay unless a designer or corporate sponsor brings you. Even so, they only allow a select list to buy tickets.

There was a time designer Valentino wanted to bring Josh Hartnett and Anna Wintour wouldn't let it happen because Hartnett hadn't done anything important in a while.

It's very selective.

Not if you are a famous person. Anna Wintour of Vogue decides who to invite and there is a theme every year. Normal people can pay huge sums of money. But even then I think Wintour has to approve. Vogue employees and publicists get in too.

Selective nahin snobbish hai

Anna wintour is one awful person... I have read so many horror stories about her.. How she would make actresses go on baby food diet or she wouldn't put then on the cover...

Why hate her for that! She clearly has a vision about how she wants the cover of her magazine to look like. If she was so horrible, actresses wouldn't go on those crash diets. They would rather walk away. But they chose to stay and made a committment. Better live up to it then.
