Vinay, I agree with what you have said. While it's difficult for a singer to cross over from tollywood (or kollywood, etc) to Bollywood it's still not half as bad as getting a break. And in my opinion someone with playback experience does have a slight edge. Though in Revanths case he had more disadvantages - language, accent, poor viewership in the south.

But honestly I'm glad that Revanth was allowed to participate. Otherwise we may not have heard such a talent. And you already know that I am a big fan of Revanths. I'm obviously happy he participated and won

Very well said. Revanth has won through sheer hard work and talent. And, why blame Indian Idol for his participation? I feel it's ridiculous. A couple of years back there was a dance competition and the winner was an established dancer and had won a dance competion. But, in the beginning of the competion noone had a problem. But, when the winner was declared people started making a big issue because the runner up a popular television actress and her fans couldn't believe that this winner could have more fans than her. So, I guess blaming is a part of the game. Jalne wale jala kare. Why should we be bothered? Let's party 🥳

you are right topic maker, I''ve been saying this for a long time, not after his win...

revanth has already got his break in a blockbuster super hit movie, and was expected to win from the beginning itself though there were a couple of singers who were far better than him...

and remember one thing, fans will be fans...they will support their favourites...

Revanth never sung in Hindi or spoke Hindi. Considering this it was much harder for Revanth or Naga compared to KB who atleast spoke Hindi.I think Revanth deserved to win. In fact I think Naga should have been # 2. KB mostly sang similar songs unlike Naga who was more versatile

Singing few songs in a certain language doesnt make Revanth a established singer-if he was truly established singer-he would be out there in the recording studios crooning out songs for heroes-The fact he came here ,putting himself across the line without any knowledge of hindi is again re-iterating the fact he isnt established-Which established singer would come to a singing audition fully knowing he/she would be totally made fun off, made to sing poorly one day-cry the other day-Noone -The guy has made it here through some sheer luck-but survived the entire Indian idol through sheer hardwork-sans any drama-my mom is alone-my dad died-no no such shit-sheer hardwork-lets just appreciate that for once no illegible person hasnt won the crown becoz he belongs to,,,,,,,or becoz he got...votes-After so long im glad to see a winner worthy of the title-Yes !!!And now a days kidsget trained before entering any competetion-look at masterchef-they take cuilinary training,Dance showsthey take training-sim ilarly in Indian idol lots of them take training and come-So lets celebrate the winner!!!

yeah revanth got his big break in bahubali bt that was Telugu version...which was watched by just particular section of country ..manohari by majority was Neeti Mohan Nd Divya Kumar song before Indian idol...other than people watching south cinema who knew he was associated with bahubali so I don't think he is established singer nd directly had a chance in Bollywood..how many southern established singers get a chance ... everyone has to find a start Nd for revanth Indian idol was d start ..yeah he used bahubali factor to make people interested in him bt it was his promotional tactic which is not wrong after all if you have achieved something flaunt it...if some Assamese or Rajasthani or Marathi established singer will come would we think it's unfair..I don't think so...he is also just a regional singer like many others who deserves a chance in Bollywood..

Agreed he got an edge but only in getting a slightly better break than what others got. By break, I only meant an opportunity to do playback singing. The telugu version of Bahubali song became a hit in Andhra alone but I am sure he did not have any fan base as such prior to having participated in this show, unlike some users in this forum are claiming. Not many knew that even Rohit did some playback singing. But people even down south didn't get to hear his name. Imagine Sonu nigam participating in Indian Idol. You may see his fan base as an advantage but I see a big risk in the fact he would lose singing opportunities if he loses in the first round itself. Had Revanth been really popular before he stepped into this show, he would not have even thougt about participating in the first place.

I may be defending him because I am his fan but more for the fact that he is not getting the due credit he deserves. It is being taken away from him for the assumption that he established fan base before appearing on the show.

The guy who lost his father at a very young age and mother raised all children (poor), The guy who is poor and sings at jagrata are the ones who should have won as they are not established singers 🤪 😎
