Interesting nominations. Some categories have 5 or 6. Best male actor has 7 lol. Surprisingly enough the only film to run the gauntlet and get nominated for all 5 major awards (Film, Music, Lead actor, lead actress and Director) Is Udta Punjab.

Predictable chart.

No nomination for Manoj Bajpayee when they nominate Rajkumar Rao for Aligarh, Swara and the guy who played Sarabjit, Randeep. And only 5 nominations for supporting actresses when there are 6 for the rest of the categories. In music also no mention for Fitoor and BBD..what was so special about Baaghi's music?

My most anticipated list of nominations.

Pretty happy overall.

EDIT:

Best Actress

- Okay I am quite majorly upset that Radhika Apte is not nominated. If it was up to me, she would be nominated for Phobia as well as Parched. But hopefully she wins Critics Choice.

- Also some people may feel Taapsee Pannu was snubbed too.

- I'm glad they went with 6 noms, rather than the usual 5. But the guys got 7 (which I think is a first-time)

- All 6 nominees are well deserved though. Sonam's 4th nom in a row, but her first deserved.

- I'd love Anushka to win. But it's a very tough one to call. I reckon Alia wins. Fingers crossed.

Best Supporting Actress

- Such a touch category. Each nominee is well deserved. But I am surprised Tabu is not shortlisted for Fitoor.

- Alia Bhatt for Kapoor & Sons would've been deserved too, but she's got 2 for leading, so..

- Aishwarya Rai for ADHM would have been nice too. It was a special role.

Sooo happy at ADHM getting Lyrics, Playback Male (x3), Director. But not Best Film 😭

Also, I would put SRK in Supporting for DZ.

Very glad they didn't snub Fawad, although I would place him as a leading actor.

Fitoor deserved Best Music nom!! But I'm very happy with the overall list, much in line with my personal taste, which hasn't happened in over a decade 😳

Damn it pains me to see RK nominated and Manoj missing.. Anyhow, I hope Shahrukh wins critics choice.. AB can win the popular one and share it with SSR😆

Among actresses, it should be Alia hands down.. No competition but I haven't seen Kahaani 2
