It's highly overrated.

You have to be in 90s to understand the magic of DDLJ.

Even if you watch Sholay, you may feel its overrated. Its not always the movie, its the aura it creates during that time on people.

DDLJ and HAHK are like family album for us. Every time we open a scene, some memory pops up😃

I always found him just about okay but a much better director than his dad for sure. He has never stooped as low in quality to make a JTHJ..even befikre was better

but these are the people we will always like coz either they are no more now or nostalgia etc etc..

like i also feel lata is an average singer..she has ruined many songs for me..asha much better..but we are often given a shut up call for saying and giving opinions..so yeahh!

OT...RNBDJ was also good if we overlook the fact that she couldn't recognize her hubby..mohabatein remains his worst for sure..even worse than befikre..what was he thinking!

It worked coz of prince charming fairytale love story concept at the time when love marriages were rare and the movie was quite well made. I don't like his cheesy other two films.

I honestly feel Yash C should get credit for DDLJ.
Mohabbatein worked bcoz of the music and mushy romance. RNBDJ worked only due to SRK...otherwise it was such a damp squib. 😆 He's pretty ordinary and one dimensional as a director. he seems to have stolen scenes from Friends and Love Aajkal . 😆 And he is unable to make his actors act without making them go OTT.

DDLJ was a hit because Aditya Chopra's story was changed by his dad. I doubt he directed much of DDLJ. His dad must have done most of the work and slapped his son's name on the credits for the movie.

DDLJ's strongest point was the writing apart from SRK's charm, SRK-Kajol chemistry and Adi's direction. Honey Irani who used to regularly write for YRF had said she wrote the film but Adi claimed credit for it. I am sure she was telling the truth.

Both Adi and KJo suck big time..If they were actors, they'd already be dismissed as bad products of nepotism who only directed 1 or 2 good films on fluke (even here we can have a conspiracy theory that Yash C ghost directed DDLJ 😆)..I have always believed Adi and KJo survived because of SRK's charm and SRK-Kajol's chemistry (mainly Karan)..And am not even exaggerating cos i like them..You have a charming actor and a couple with great chemistry and half your job is done..They really should stop trying and focus on their PH..They have so many good to decent directors in their PH who are million times better than them..So just focus on that and quit directing 😆
