Hey guys, I know many of you are anticipating a small argument between Devakshi about food, or may be a little romantic segment until they are disturbed by GKB on their first night, but I wanted them to talk, talk about something that has been striking chords of music in my heart. A scene in the wedding episode; though of a few seconds, but making an ever lasting impact on me. I have watched that particular scene on a loop multiple times, yet the heaviness in the heart and light headedness that it gives me at the same moment, I wanted to see a private conversation between Devakshi after that. That scene was when Sonakshi was taking adieu throwing rice over her shoulder, Dev opening the door for her settling her in, and getting in the car, and later holding her hand consoling her when she was silently crying. Was that my wishful thinking or did really Dev's face gave a heaviness of heart seeing her crying; I dunno.

So here it comes:

A heart to heart conversation on the first night

Sonakshi sat at the end of Dev's bed after her loving sisters in law had escorted her here, and left for the hall where they were may be grilling their elder brother for a neg before they would let him go to his wife.

Sonakshi looked around the room. It wasn't as if she was new to this room; she has walked in and out of this space on a routine basis, before and even after their love confession. But the ambiance of the room looked different. Some things were altered. Like this bed sheet she sat on, instead of a monotonous white and blue cotton ones, this one was a pink and red silk one. She looked around the room. The wall at the back of their bed was artistically covered with pink flowers. The room as always impeccably clean; she wondered at times how come a boy's room remains so neat, may be Kichhu Bhaiyya and Maa keep on tidying it, just like her Maa cleaned her Dada's room, with Baba admonishing him every two seconds about him becoming a horse along with being a football, but not learning to keep the room clean.

Sona's thoughts immediately wandered off to her bidaai. She had never expected such heaviness in her heart. She loved, and thoroughly loved Dev, there was no ounce a doubt about it; she cannot imagine her life without him. But as and when the time of her wedding was nearing, her excitement was running along with nervousness. But the real jitters were felt when her mother in law and grandmother in law decided to leave to progress with the Grahpravesh. Nearer the Bidaai was coming, the more Sona felt the bottom of her stomach vanishing. Reality was hitting like never before, she knew nothing but the inadvertent flow of tears. She felt like hugging and holding on to every family member of hers, making an everlasting memory of their protection. The cocoon of love that they made around her, she needed to make an opening in that cocoon, take a leap of faith and walk into the arms of her beloved, who waited for her with a bated breath. She wanted to look into his eyes, but the clouds of tears didn't give her a chance, but the tenderness of his palm that she felt on her upper arm, while he had opened the door of their waiting car for her, made her realise at the back of her mind that he understands her pain at the moment. But that thought could not reach her conscious thoughts since her mind was clouded with the grief of leaving her family behind. She just sat in the car, weeping her eyes out, the door had shut, she never realised that her embellished finery must be hanging out of the car and that man who has learnt to bend for the love of his life time and again, bent yet again, and had settled her in the car shutting the door.

The venue of her wedding was left behind, now were the roads of emptiness of midnight, and nothing particular to look at, but what to look at when your eyes are overloaded with tears. All the thoughts came to a halt when that tender hand came across her lap, and held her hand this time. She lifted her heavy eyelashes at the man of her life, they held consolation, the understanding of her pain, she could not read every emotion among the millions of them that her husband was portraying, in that one moment of an eye lock. She had pulled her eyelashes down, and continued the silent tears flowing, while she tried keeping a hold on her emotions. Just like he had promised, he hadn't left her hand even for a second throughout the journey. And that helped her take semblance. After that everything went in a blur, what with grahpravesh, and rituals and dramas that kept on unfolding, and now she was here.

Sonakshi's thoughts took a halt an exact moment coinciding with Dev's locking up the door of their room. She hadn't given a lot of conscious thought how they would progress from here on, Dev was happy yesterday, he was flirty as well. But right now she knew that he has already read the thoughts of her memories from a few hours from now, and his face was anything but flirty and romantic. He came and sat next to her, patiently waiting for her look up at him. She did look up, and gave her a smile, though genuine but a little forced because her emotions were in a whirlpool of mixture, and she was a few seconds before dwindling in her sadness, and that emotion  made her smile a little forceful.

Dev took her left hand in his, and finally spoke something since he was unusually quiet throughout the wedding, except at this home when the drama was unfolding. His right hand caressed her head, in a caring gesture, the way he usually does to her. The Heavy chunni of the Lojja Bastr slipped down her head. Neither paid attention to it, since his eyes were speaking another language""I am sorry." He had finally uttered. Sona looked bewildered, but he spoke again- "I was so dying to get married to you, that the conscious thought of you leaving behind your family never came to me, until we walked down the steps of the venue, and you were inconsolably teary eyed. I promised you to never let you cry ever again and the very first thing after our wedding it was you shaking with suppressed cries hugging your family."

Sona tried to smile even more genuinely this time, shaking her head in negative, trying to stop him from going on a guilt trip. But who was she joking to, it is The Dev Dixit, he does what he wants, and right now nothing but him speaking out was the solution. He went down on his hunches before her, taking both her hands in his- "Sona, I have stood in your family's place a few months ago at Neha's wedding, you were there with me, you witnessed it all, how broken I felt back then. Seeing you today in Neha's place, and the reason of your tears, was me, for whom you were leaving your entire universe behind, it has hit me like never before. The ecstasy of finally making you mine is par explanation, but the heaviness of heart to separate you from your family is something that I couldn't help. I just want to tell you that, you do have a family here as well. We all love you, Maa, Neha, Riya, Nikki, Maamaji."

Sonakshi pulled at his hand asking him to sit back on the bed next to her, and as he did, Sonakshi spoke- "And you too. Your love is my greatest strength Dev. You are the reason why I could muster up the courage to leave my loving family behind, and come here. Just stay beside me, I will be fine."

Dev had cupped her cheeks in a loving gesture, his eyes spoke his sincerity- "I am always there Mrs. Dixit. Always."... Sonakshi relaxed her cheek against his palm, and when he finally removed his palm did she flinched in pain- "Ohho!" Dev was tensed. His sleeve got stuck in her dangling earring. He kept of trying to take it out, but it was hurting her ear this way. He finally helped her remove the earring with one hand, and then showed her his sleeve to let her take the earring out of it. When she did, he removed her other earring too. He helped her taking the crown over her head, and both were slowly getting into the world that dwells in each other's eyes, when the sudden banging on their room's door pulled them harshly out of their trance. Dev had got up to answer the door. Maamiji was at the door. Maa had fainted.

Such an excellent post !!very well written
I could actually imagine each n every bit of it..I was completely lost n mesmerized..the feelings, emotions and depth between Devakshi which was kindda lost in last few episodes( due to OTT drama) has been beautifully portrayed in your write -up
I really wish they show something like this before Ishu fainting n chulha drama..Dev -Sona seriously need some emotional private moments before they are again stuck in Ishwari/Bua/GKB politics and drama..
The duo dint get a chance to speak to each other during wedding..Dev dint get a chance to tell Sona that he is there with her always come what may ..all the time they were seen entertaining their families .it was utterly disgusting when Sona cried due to dadi bua taunting..GOD for once she needs her man to tell her that even though she left her lovely family but he is right there for her, supporting her, loving her like her own family members used to .just for once we need Dev to assure Sona of her happiness before she gets into filthy family politics of Ishwari n GKB..
