Hrithik Roshan to play a pilot in Siddharth Anand's 'Fighter'
Duggu to do a 'Top Gun'?
Hrithik Roshan has played a soldier in the Army in Farhan Akhtar's Lakshya. Now, he is in talks to play an Air Force pilot in Siddarth Anand's Fighter.
The actor and director last came together for action-thrillerBang Bang and they are expected to stick to the genre for Fighter, which is believed to have been inspired by Tom Cruise-starrerTop Gun.
If Hrithik does end up taking the role, playing an IAF pilot will be a first for him. Obviously, most of the action will include aerial stunts. With his good looks, Hrithik will definitely stand out in the uniform..
Informs our source, "It was during the making of Bang Bang that Siddharth had narrated the idea to Hrithik. Once the script was completely finished, he took it to the actor again. Hrithik liked the script. After that, Siddharth stepped out of Sanjay Dutt's return vehicle Badlaa. And Hrithik got busy shooting for Sanjay Gupta's Kaabil. But after that film is completed, his dates are free as the actor has not committed to any other film. He even walked out of Thug."
Fighter will be mounted on a massive canvas, just like Hrithik and Siddharth's Bang Bang. And the film's huge budget is the reason that it has not found any producers yet. Hrithik's Mohenjo Daro faring so badly at the box-office has further hurt Fighter's prospects. The source adds, "It remains to be seen whether Hrithik's dad Rakesh Roshan will consider coming on board as producer, considering the fact that the next installment of Krrish is nowhere in sight."
