Huma Qureshi, Akki in Jolly LLB 2

The two team up for the Jolly LLB sequel, which kicks off on August 25 

A sequel to the 2013-National Award winning film, Jolly LLB, written and directed by Subhash Kapoor, is set to roll on August 15, with a 25-day schedule in Lucknow, after which the unit will head to Varanasi, and wrap up in Kashmir. 

Akshay Kumar will step into the lead role of the controversial Kanpur-based lawyer Jagdish 'Jolly' Tyagi, which was played by Arshad Warsi in the first instalment. Now, Huma Qureshi is his leading lady in the film. This will be the first time Akshay and Huma have been paired together. 

"Akshay really liked the script and Huma came on board a fortnight ago after she cleared a look test," a source close to the development informed Mirror. 

While the original was inspired by the Sanjeev Nanda hit-and-run case of 1999, the muse behind the sequel has been kept strictly under wraps. 

Saurabh Shukla, who played the judge in the earlier film, bagging the National Award for Best Actor in a Supporting Role, will be back in the sequel, in a special appearance, alongside Arshad. The film is set to release next year.
