Is this a "Fan club" where only fans are allowed? Its for movie reviews and eveyone has right to come and give their opinion. If you are so sensitive to people's opinion, you can ignore this post.

On topic, yes Ash ruined this movie. Random tweets of fans can't chang the general public verdict -

Randeep Hooda - Top class. He should have been face of movie coz he is playing titular role.
Richa - She showed her talent in ONE scene 👏
Ash - Brings the movie down with her OTT acting. Screaming and screeching is not equal to acting.

Nope by all means, anyone is free to criticize whoever. But you can tell when its coming from a place of hate and animosity.

And sorry- the general public verdict is very positive, go read the comments on other socail media platforms, its just this forum that is known as the hate club

Your opinions are just that...opinions...So stop making it seem like you're speaking facts.

Yes but my comments were not petty. Nor was I discounting Neerja the actual woman. Anyone can see that comments in this topic are not constuctive, most of the comments for Ash are very vague, and the way the reviews are written you can tell the member hasnt even watched the movie 😆 Herd mentality.

I was also first to criticize Ash in Jazbaa and the film also, So dont paint me as a blind fan

Nope I am not painting you as anything...I don't even know what your comments were for Jazbaa...But if you watched Sarabjit with an unbiased eye, its very clear that Aishwarya is the weakest link in the movie...

But I agree about some comments being not so constructive, but that is also because of her fans like you who get judgmental at every negative comment Aishwarya's acting receives...Like you said, its opinions and opinions are just opinions, not something that you can argue with?

It may be clear for you that Ash is the weakest link in the movie. But again, thats not a fact. Thats your opinion and maybe other peoples opinion. Theres more people praising her than criticizing (im talking about general public, not critics or members here)

Even Rajkumar Hirani has praised Ash and he didnt have to. Im sure he knows what he's talking about he's one of the most influential, intelligent and respected people in Bollywood. I think his opinion holds a lot of weight.

I watched the movie. Extremely moving and left me speechless by the end.

Everyone should watch it for the heartbreaking tale of the family.

Aishwarya was superb in the film. She is just way beyond brilliant in many parts. Everyone was clapping when she takes the stage for the outburst in Pak and like some on the social media pointed out "hatt" dialogue sends shivers down the spine. Randeep and Richa have given fab performances.

The film has got an overwhelming response from the audience(Just look at the ratings on BookMyshow or Imdb)

Just hope it does well at the Box office now, it certainly deserves too.

A traumatic subect at hand indeed..but the narration and forced portrayal of anger from Aish's end failed to leave me hyponitised to a trance. The anger scenes where it required loudness were just too loud...the high decibal levels certainly unbearable for the ears.Someone here said that Dalbir is loud in general and that's just her basic character trait...but on screen that kind of loudness has to translate in such a way that it is pleasant an acceptable to a watch and listen to...I'm sure nobody wants to listen to ear busting...brain thudding shrieking 80% of a movie. She defo had a meaty role indeed...with great scope for performance...if only more work had gone into to the vioice modulation and dialect...there would have been chances of provoking more of the desired empathy levels.

There was 3 scenes where I do think she really did hit the nail on the head and credit should be
given where due.

1) When she gives birth to still born baby...where she refuses to give up the baby's body

Without any diaolouges she manages to captutre and depict pain, anguish, grief and all the sorrows of a mother just merely emoting through face, body and the little nuances...without even having to shed the tear ducts.

2) Family reunion in jail-Best scene of both Randeep and Aish.

For me...this was the scene of the movie where I managed to feel the trauma and the heart ache of the subject at hand...wish the rest of the family members got more scope to perform here too though.

3)Second meeting at Jail where only Dalbir is able to go see Sarbjit.

... where he is on the brink of insanity and has lost all hope...Aish here surprises me again..The way she portrays the consoling sister./encouraging and trying to restore hope and faith in her bro..to not give up and keep fighting.

My other qualm is...I know the story is narrated through the eyes of the sister Dalbir Kaur...but since it is about Sarbjit and even named after him...would hve been nicer and made more sense to see Randeep get more screen time as Sarbjit...i agree with that Review vid...It was 70% Aish and maybe 30% or less of Randeep and rest of other peripheral characters.

I've given my two cents before... but wanted to break it down more as to what scenes I really did appreciate about the movie without being biased.Pointing out the flaws of the movie doesn't mean that I'm being insensitive and demeaning to subject at hand.

That's more or less my review too of the movie...There is so much potential to this subject that I feel a disservice has been done to Sarabjit and telling his story to the world by miscasting Aishwarya as Dalbir...I cannot but help wondering what if it were a more seasoned actress like Vidya or Rani or even a role reversal with Richa as Dalbir...
