I had always wished skr show this but was not sure whether they will show it.how does a man feel chased by a woman he does not love. Our stories are rich with men falling for women dancing in rain, man losing his sense when he sees a woman's saree slipping. And men doing adultery are let off and even prostitution is justified telling one woman cannot satisfy a man. But is every man like that. Don't they truly love their better halves. What if a woman tries to lure such a man. Doesn't take no for answer. Who are more wilful than men in destroying another man's home. Today ram portrayed an exasperated man behind whom a woman has come and making him uncomfortable. His patience is tested and he explodes. He doesn't love her. Leave him alone. Men too have emotions. They too have loyalties. Women also need to realize when a man means no it is no too.

Beautiful explanation Sruthi di, men are not bad and unloyal by nature. They become bad and unloyal because of infuences. The people who don't succumb to bad influences are very rare.

By the way, can I call you Sruthi di? My name is Gowri, and I am new here.

Shruthi, amidst so many incidents  that violate a woman's dignity, a man's dignity is often overlooked. If there are aggressive and obsessive men, the feminine gender is also not devoid of these despicable qualities. Today Ram went through a gamut  of emotions from exasperation to anger when faced with shoorpanaka's obsessiveness. He makes it clear that he loves his wife and is not interested in surpi's confession of her feelings. Ashish nailed it ,didn't he? he expressed all the emotions clearly and finely.

@Savitha Ashish's performance was a treat to the eyes.He showed everything. From humble request to exasperated anger. His eyes and body language was brilliant. Especially the scene he calls Sita and when he turns back realizes someone else and calls Devi. And you are right men too have dignity and it is not right to assault their  dignity either.
@Gowri yes you can call me Shruthi di. Welcome to the forum. All humans are influenced by their ecosystem dear. Not only men. But among them also there are people who want to walk the right path and does not want to take the liberties society gives them for their gender.

A very well portrayed scene .
A very impressive performance by  Ashish .
Very true that there  such Nobel qualities in men too that are put to test by some  Surpanakas .
Ram was indeed the Avatar to show this deep love , loyalty , faith and respect for his spouse in Men which was tested throughout their stay on earth !
Though maybe rare such Men are in good numbers even today .
It is required to highlight such characters which is the need of the days though a very aggressive effort to promote the other less loyal ones is being made by Media !
Society seems to justify the wrong side of men more easily and in the course increases their numbers instead of being a check !
For a good society to exist it is important foe every memeber ( men and women) to be upholding the right values of life both towards the family and the outside world .

It was nice to see the predicament of Ram to control his anger in such a frustrating situation .

Yes Vipraja. The definition of maryada has to be changed. I am quite happy that SKR showed Surpi-Ram in this way than the common portrayal of him and Lakshman playing with her. I had always felt that portrayal was not in line with the behavior of maryada purushottam.
Society loved to make use of such things to justify men's behavior. But SKR bought out the dilemma a good man faces even today.
And we have to highlight them. We have seen enough angry young men who run behind woman and make them fall in love. Let us see genuine men with emotions

Great point u raised. I want to highlight one more aspect and it is related to masculinity versus femininity and which might be the reason why we do not get to see the sufferer side of men in media. Let us forget Ramayan for a while and consider four characters as four normal persons of today- Ram, Sita and their respective psycho lovers- Shurpi and Jayant. Jayant is a psycho lover. Fell for Sita's beauty, tried to woo her and when she opposed, couldn't take a no and tried to harm her and even succeeded as well. Shurpi again is an obsessive mental case, is head over heels in lust with Ram. When he denies, she tries to harm herself in front of Ram as opposed to the actions of Jayant. Ram is extremely frustrated, although is able to give punishment to Shurpi, but that he is not doing as she is a woman, which again is the test of his patience. Thus, the pattern is different for both psychos although intentions are same.

It is rare in the society to look at man as a sufferer that too in the hands of a woman because men are masculine by their build up and are considered strong as well. They are shown as able to defend themselves and definitely capable to back off a woman easily. On the other hand, women are considered as timid, soft and biologically weaker than men (which is true as well). Therefore, whenever there is a case of women being oppressed by man, it is easy for the media to give justice to the woman and give hard punishment to man (I agree that oppressors must be punished harshly). But we rarely get the news of a man being oppressed mentally in the hands of a woman and media giving attention for providing justice to man. Ohh, this just has reminded me of the movie Aitraaz'

Also, when Shurpi will be given punishment, Lakshman's intentions will be scrutinized. Sita's dialogues in the promo are the dialogues of the society.  Women sometimes do get the benefit of them being a woman irrespective of the deeds performed by them. If a man by chance looses the cool in such siutatn, he becomes the punching bag. Although, it is true that women are clearly more sufferers of violence in the hands of man, it does not justify the deeds of a bad woman.

@attubaby you bought out the point well. Again the issue is what happens to woman is seen, but what happens to a man needs to be felt.
And this is where Ram and Lakshman differs. Ram controls his emotions, whereas Lakshman in his eagerness to defend ends up doing something that has far reaching consequences.
Here the problem was not Lakshman, but Surpi. But then the guilt will be on Lakshman when Sita apaharan happens.
