Handsdown Bawarchi. Everything about that movie is just so mellow, simple and down to earth once you get the gist of it.

Gomaal and Chhoti Si Baat- I love these movies and I have watched them over 100 times.

This is difficult, very difficult.
But the most I enjoyed is Bawarchi, as Boss said simple and beautiful.

Tough list...

But from Drama side... I love AANAND and ABHIMAAN.  

He was truly a remarkable filmmaker. Very topical films in that decade which was entertaining with soulful music and also plot/performance driven.

I think 'Chhoti Si Baat' is by Basu Chatterjee another great moviemaker (His Rajnigandha is my favorite, also Pasand Apni Apni, but that's a diff. thread)

Bawarchi and Golmal


Another great one is Satyakam very serious movie with great story, great message... But you cannot watch it over over like Bawarchi or Golmaal
I am sure there are other great movies too, but cannot recall right now
