Start & Stop loving
The following weekend March 12th, Chachi decided to pay a visit unexpectedly
II had invited Sam's family and Akka for breakfast, Ambala Anna was in town II didnt know that, so Akka declined
Sam arrived with Lasya baby, who was no longer a baby, proprietorial, opening and closing car doors, shutting the gate
Walking up to the front patio doors and screaming when Nandu reached to open it
Dressed in a orange frock with green butterflies, and a "carelessly knotted scarf" in orange
II bend down and grabbed her sucking the life out of her cheeks
"Onakku edukku dee ivlav fashion?" (why do u need to be dressed up so?) II cooed
She grinned at II
"Ya ofcourse!! U want me to be frumpy and unkempt so u can go after my tall man" "Sly fox!!"
"Too cute u are, I am just going to eat u up" she whispered in the baby's ear
"Just SOME way huh? to get rid of me? I am not buying that lady" Lasya stiffened, irritated
R&B wandered out, one hand tucked in his pocket, blue jeans and a white shirt
"LOOK AT HIM, Sight for sore eyes!!" Lasya ogled longingly staring at dude
He walked over and patted her cheek with the cold bottle "Peanut" he whispered
"Yes darling" Lasya cooed "We do make a good couple dont we?" she leaped
"Why cant u drink ur goddamn beer inside?" II accused
He chuckled grabbing her from a sulking II
"Helllooo ghar par aur log bhi aaye hain" Sam scolded from the lounge
"U know where everything is, help urself" II was miffed... she trailed her husband to the lawns "Kudu da"
Lasya looked at her, and hid in R&B's chest thinking it was a game of hide n seek, gurgling with laughter
Ranjan and Tan walked out talking about neighbors in the area
"Pata nahi, guard keh raha tha, Tunisian Embassy aayegi is side" he tipped his bottle to the right
"Do u still have the Zambian Consular on the left?" Tan asked
Ranjan nodded
"Koi dhang ka neighbor aaye to baat bhi kare aadmi, who can speak Arabic or Swahili" Ranjan was self deprecating
"Shanti Niketan aa jao Daddyjee... saare Punjabi haingey othey" Tan chuckled
The men wandered to the hedge by the wall, and talked abt work
Nandu did tricks for R&B
Lasya behaved as if she was 4 months old and cudnt walk

II went in reluctantly
"Bhaav nahi diya?" Sam teased
"Not funny" II rubbed her belly
"I am making my own" "As u can see... JUSTTT for that I want it to be a girl, and be fatter than Lasya" she spoke vengefully
"Did u fall in love at first sight?" Sam asked
"WHO CAN NOT?" II claimed
"R&B ko pata hai?" Sam asked shocked
"I MEANT lasya" II lied glibly

"Do u remember last year when I had just had her, mere ghar aate they tum dono pretending to fight, but actually to make out?" Sam reminded
"I DONT think we came to make out" II was hot and bothered
"Sure!! U havent touched him yet, I know..."Sam rolled on the lounge floor
Manya walked down the grand staircase "Kiska mazaak ho raha hai? Dimpal ka?" she asked all enthu
"Naheee ISKA" Sam sat up, hugging II
Mavvy wheeled a cart of various breakfast food, from India and overseas, there was pooris and rasse waali aloo, paneer parathas cut into triangles,
with various chutneys, idlis and sambar (amma's batter), eggs, bacon and toast, and Parisian fruit preserves.
Another help rolled out a cart with coffees and tea and juice
Nandu almost slammed into that one
"NANDAN!!... Dekhkar bhaago"
"Sorry" he said startled, running up the grand stair case
Manya surveyed the carts, as Mahavir handed her plates and napkins
"Do u want to go after breakfast or take a nap?" Manya asked Sam pointedly
II pretended not to be bothered, grabbing a parantha wedge and tossing it between her hands as it was burning hot
Dropped it on a plate
And added chutneys
"Eggs aur lao" Manya sulked
Mahavir nodded
"Nahiii bhayya, kitna aur hai khaana" "Go eat eggs in Sydney" Sam scolded
"IF I go" Manya winked
"I want free baby sitting, Sofia's 3 week vacation seems like a 3 year vacation" Sam sighed
II wondered abt Akka... feeling terrible
No help, a job, and housework.. some women do have it lucky
"Umm... there is something called "Nanny service" Manya mocked her sister
"PATA HAI genius... but Tan was saying... aadat daalte hain to care for the baby by ourself" Sam whined
"Ask him to put such aadat" Manya was unpleasant
Chachi walked in...
II got up first
"Hi! Chachi" she smiled
"Sorry beta I cudnt come over last weekend to ur function" Chachi cooed

II glanced at the bags she was carrying
Chachi didnt hand it to her...
Sam got up reluctantly, and hugged her, Manya didnt even do that, just texted and ate after she said a "Hi"
"Breakfast ho raha hai?" Chahi drooled
She asked about II's health and well being... condescendingly
II wiped her hands off and served for Chachi "Dont give me too much oily stuff" Chachi preened
In designer jeans and a chiffon blouse and pouffy salon set hair she looked like a million bucks
II thought of Amma... her saree tucked in her waist with a jharoo, pushing water out of the balcony while Appa chanted shloka
"Would u like chai? or coffee?"
"Coffee is for Iyers like u... I want my chai, I am a PUNJABAN"
Sam and her talked about Chachi's grandkids and DILs
Chachi spoke until her face turned blue
the men were nowhere to be seen, maybe walking around the house?
Chachi looked at II and gave a bhashan...
"Chaaron, matlab, Samar Trehaan, Utkarsh and the chhotu... are blessed... their wives love them SO MUCH... its the wife's job" Chachi said smugly
"Jab wife is loving men will be loving too"
II nodded sincerely
"Wife shudnt stop loving husband after the baby is born" Chachi gave her zindagi ki seekh type BS
"Yes" II nodded politely
"Bhaisaab ki kya galti hai batao (in having an affair with Beenu Kumar)? I mean u didnt meet ur Ma, but she was too involved with these kids" Chachi said gleefully.
Manya looked like she wud pick up the scalding pot of coffee and drain it on Chachi's head
II felt her heart thud painfully afraid, R&B wud walk in at that moment and punch the woman reeking of perfume
Sam expressed dismay "Chacheee"
