"It hurts so badly" she began to cry"
"Did the water break?" he asked calmly
She soaked her seat, got up ashamed and sweaty
"Ayyoyo" she nodded, "My chair is soaked, its gross" she cried softly
"I am texting the Doc, I will see u at the hospital"
"I dont feel good, I think I want to throw up" she hurled in her trash cash as her phone fell from her hand
"Good grief" he whispered, his heart racing, with excitement, fear, trepidation, joy, exhilaration, anger (for not being there with her)

She texted Amma, as the first contraction hit
"Amma I got contractions"
Amma called her immediately
"Are u home?" she asked confused
"No at my desk, my chair is all wet ma" II cried ashamed
"Can u tell Ritu?"
Her work phone rang
It was Doc Urmil Gupta's clinic, she answered weakly
"We are asking a Gurgaon hospital to send an ambulance, will u be OK?" a woman asked
"i dont know, I am so sick and in pain" "I just messed up my chair" II whispered
The woman didnt have an answer
II hung up
Akka called
"How are u kanna..."
"I broke the water... my water broke" she said
"Chooo chweeet my lil darling is havinga baby?" Akka began to cry

"What kanna, stay on the line" Akka begged
II saw two women and a guy pass by her cube and the odor made them peek, they rubbed their nose, "Umm.. do u have help?" they paused
The man stepped back
"I am sorry" Ii whispered "Ka I ruined my chair and the floor"
One girl ran out

She threw up a couple times
Amma Appa, Akka and Akka's 80 year old MIL were all there, the wobbly old lady applied vibhuti on her forehead
Amma praised and appreciated her proudly, listing all her achievemnts to the doc and promising II will be a great "amma"
Hearing Amma say the word "amma" for her... made II cry harder
ranjan and Sam and Tan, paced the waiting area, making calls arranging food, ensuring Lasya's baby clothes were brought over
Mahavir was asked to prepare for the baby's welcome in two days

The family was taken to a prive "suite" and snacks and chai and juices and coffee flowed like it was a 5 star hotel
"I want a boy" II cried as the next contraction hit
She arched and froze and thrashed, crying
And so began II's journey to motherhood, and after nearly 12 hours of labor, they would finally decide to go for a C section

"Just move ur things to the first floor, and stay away from me" she warned
He nodded, in agreement
After a tiny incision in her lower abdomen, the Doc pulled out a 9 lbs 4 oz, fatso

"Angel" he whispered, picking her up and bending down on her cheek his lips covered in mask, to give her his first... of a billion kisses.
The lips twisted like jello forming a moan...
