His heart was beating loudly against his ribcage in anticipation, He & Vicky were standing outside the bookshop where she work. He ran his hand through his well gelled hair before he moved inside the story, vicky following him behind. He moved toward the lady, seated on the front desk.
"Hello, We are here to meet Ms. Taani, can you tell us, where we can find her?" Vicky asked the lady, in polite manner. Mrs. Johns looked up, she examine them before she answered.
"Oh! She is inside, let me call her." Mrs. johns answered, she got up and walked inside, where taani was arranging the new books in shelf.
"Taani dear, there is someone outside, to meet you." Mrs. johns said to her, her brows knitted in confusion as she stare at mrs. johns, wondering who had come to meet her. Taani nodded at her, and they both moved out.
There was change in air, suddenly, which he could feel. She was there, very close to him. His heart told him. He looked up and found her, coming his way along with the lady they met earlier.
His eyes lingered on her face before they moved down, and the moment his eyes fell on her baby bump, his eyes popped out of their sockets. Gulped formed in his throat when reality hit him, she was here, but was she still his? Or she had moved on?
But his taani can't forget him so easily, can she? He questioned himself, then he look at her, she was still same.
"You?" Her loud voice broke his trance, he look at her, she was surely shocked to see him there. Mrs. Johns & vicky left, giving some privacy to them, though at first, mr.s johns didn't agreed but on vicky's request, she did.
"Who's child is this?" Rey asked her, and cursed himself for not having control over his tongue. He didn't wanted to started conversation like this.
"Brad pitt's?" Taani gave a sarcastic smile to him as she answered which increased him anger level. He wasn't really in mood to bear her sarcastic replies.
"I'm not up for your sarcasm, so don't test my patience level, taani." Rey gritted his teethes, as he spoke. Taani narrowed her eyes at him.
"With how many guys i have been, Rey? You are the only guy i have ever been, so isn't it obvious that this child is yours?" Taani asked him, her eyes spitting fire.
"My child?" He whispered to himself, shocked with her revelation. His mind went blank for a moment, then a sudden happiness seeped through him, realizing the life growing inside her in symbol of their love.
"But why you never told me?" Rey accused her, and this time, his words angered her. It was him who left her, not other way around.
"Whoa! Don't you dare to put blame on me, Mr. singhania. It was you who left me because your mother doesn't approve me. You don't have any right to question me about anything." Taani shouted at him, her pregnancy hormones were making her more angry.
"Calm down! I know I haven't been a best boyfriend to you-"
"Ex. It's ex now, Mr. I-can't-go-against-my-mother's-wish Singhania." Taani cut him off in the middle, and look at him with anger.
"And what are you doing here? Haven't you done enough damage to my life?" Taani questioned him with fierceness, seeing him back, her heart was craving for him, again, and she is hating it how her own heart is betraying her.
"Will you stop talking to me like that?" Rey asked her, ignoring the question asked by her. He wanted to talk to her calmly, he was worried for her, now she is carrying his child and getting hyper is not good for her health.
"I talk to jerks & assholes in this tone only, since you can't stop being one, I can't help it either. Deal with it." Taani answered him back, with a sarcastic smile.
"Taani! I'm here for you, baby. I want you back." Rey said to her, in soft tone which gave a little shock to her.
"Why? Because you got bored of your high-class girls or I'm carrying your heir now?" She couldn't help but question him.
"None of these. Though, I'm the happiest man right now, seeing you're having our baby but i'll never want you back just for baby. I want you, I don't want you for any reason, I want you for myself because i love you.." Rey confessed, he tried taking a step back.
"But its too late now. You have broke me once, but not again." Taani whispered and she turned her head away from him. Hurt flickered through his hazel orbs, but he understood her. After all, he was the one who had left her, when she needed him the most.
"Now, if you are done, please leave. I have so many works to do-" Taani said to her, she turned to leave but stopped when he held her hand and at the same time, her baby kicked. She put her hand on her baby bum.
"I'm not letting you walk away from me." Rey whispered in her ear, his breath tickled on her ear lobe, sending shiver down her spine. She cursed her pregnancy hormones which were taking toll on her.
"Instead of wasting your time here, why don't you go and play doll-house with those barbies your mother has chosen for you." He rolled his eyes hearing her remark.
"I have no interest in that, from past 6 months i'm searching for you, and i'm not letting you go this time. Last time i did i grave mistake, but this time, I won't commit same mistake. I'll win you back." Rey whispered in her ear. He kissed her cheek, making her gasp before she pushed him away.
"Hello, kiddo, it's me your daddy. I'll come very soon, and have proper heart-to-heart conversation with you, but till then, take care of yourself & your mumma's too. She can be stubborn sometimes." Rey bend, he placed his hand on her baby bump and spoke softly to his baby while she was glaring at him, but deep inside she was happy to him accepting the baby.
She huffed and went inside, leaving him alone. He knew it will take time for her forgive him, and he will do everything to earn her forgiveness, even if it means, going out of way for her.
"I'll win you back." He thought to himself before he left from there.
