For me they r not dissapointing, I was expecting it to collect 5 crs on Monday coz usually there is a 50% drop on weekdays compared to weekends, also these r working weekdays so that's why it will collect less this week

Still the movie is doing well and the collections r steady, the budget has mor or less been recovered

It's not about likes/dislikes.

The story is about Bajirao and Mastani, yet most ended up feeling for Kashibai.

Mastani's journey isn't properly encapsulated. She carries the same expression throughout. And, the intimate moments between her and Bajirao doesn't do enough to strengthen her character.

Considering the movie was about Mastani, her character was weakly drawn.

In real life, Mastani and Kashibai met once iirc and Kashibai was basically more of a political wife, whilst Mastani was the romantic loon. In the movie, it's even-stevens, so if you understand their love story through the movie alone, her character was on the outskirts. The real struggle was between Bajirao's love for Mastani and Kashibai's stance as a honorable and ethical figure. Mastani's struggle for Bajirao and society's acceptance was 3rd on the priority list.

For what it was, the movie was still beautiful.

all characters including side characters wr perfect... I connected with mastani more maybe I m like her excluding her love for bajirao.. but if I ever choose love i will be exactly like her.. I do like people like mastani in real life also.. and people like kashi are in fact loveable but I find them too chipku and rotlus.(that's what I saw in the movie.. I don't know how the real kashi was :)) if she was more stronger than rao and mastani than I will choose her instead)

Dilwale-BajiraoMastaniBajirao Mastani enjoyed a good weekend at the Box Office, hence consolidating its position further. With a good count of screens being retained, the Sanjay Leela Bhansali directed film found audience rooting for it. As a result, 34.3 crore more came in the second weekend for the film. Now this is a very good hold when compared to the opening weekend, which saw 46.77 crore coming in.

Considering the fact that there was continued competition from Dilwale as well as the Hollywood release Star Wars, the Eros film still did well to bring on maximum moolah, hence turning out to be the first choice of the audience. Currently standing at 120.45 crore, the film is now set for stable weekdays and then one push all over again in the third weekend, which too is an extended three day holiday owing to Friday being the first day of the New Year.

The film has now crossed the lifetime total of Ram Leela [118.7 crore] in 10 days flat, hence turning out to be the biggest ever success for Sanjay Leela Bhansali. This is also Ranveer Singh biggest grosser till date and he is now the only young star to have two solo 100 crore affairs to his name. On the other hand Deepika Padukone has yet another century added to her tally. With 6 centuries to her name now (others being Chennai Express, Happy New Year, Ram Leela, Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani, Race 2), she is now an undisputed Number One heroine and is neck to neck with Kareena Kapoor Khan, who too has registered half a dozen such biggies.

Bajirao Mastani will now comfortably cross the 160 crore mark and it has to be seen how much does it score from here.

For me I felt bad for all three rao, mastani and kashi, but I felt the most bad for rao and mastani

The reason being is yes Bajirao did betray kashi, which was wrong, but he tried the best he cud to give both thier rites, he cared and loved both of them, he gave both thier sons equal love, he never tried to make kashi feel any less than mastani, I felt so bad for him in the scene where kashi said she doesn't want to see him anymore, even wen kashi accepted mastani as his second wife she just cudnt be with him while he was with mastani.

And mor than anything rao was in pain coz of his family, he just wanted his family to accept mastani, but they didn't, and with that pain and heartache he died

I felt really bad for mastani, she fell in love with rao and rao gave her his dagger as a symbol of his love for a her, she had every rite to come to his house and demand to be with rao as that dagger was a way of saying that they were married, the qubool hai scene gave me goosebumps! Rao told mastsni that she wud be insulted by society, that she wud not be given the same rites as his first wife, but mastani accepted it all just to be with him! That's all she wanted, was raos love, even till she end she tolerated every insult and suffering coz her love for rao mattered over anything else

I just hated wen his family kept calling her mistress/courtesan, u cud see how much it hurt her wen they wud say that, deepika portrayed mastanis pain so well!

Ofcourse I also felt bad for kashi, she was the one betrayed by her husband who she loves dearly, she didn't want to share him with anyone else, and she had every rite to feel angry towards rao and mastani, but kashi had a gud heart, she told rao that mastani and her son were going to be killed and she saved them. The last scene I felt the most bad for her, she was watching her husband lose his life and there was nothing she cud do about it

OK so here is my review: it will contain spoilers
The movie is one of the best I hav seen, not only coz of the storyline but the movie has so much mor to it, the background score, the sets, the songs, the emotions, the action scenes! All made the movie into such an epic and enjoyable watching experience!

The opening credits where they were showing raos battles was so incredible! The visuals plus the ji re Bajirao theme gave me goosebumps!

And Deepikas entry scene is one of the coolest I hav ever seen for an actress! The Way she fought those warriors was so gud!

The action in the movie was epic! From the first battle with rao and mastani fighting together to the last battle where rao is fighting the enemy army all by himself

And the songs were absolutely beautiful on the big screen! Deewani mastani was like a dream and malhari was so much fun to watch! Pinga and mohe rang do laal were also an enjoyable experience

And the last scene for me was absolute genius by slb, rao hallucinating and seeing those black horses was a symbol that destiny was taking away his Mastani, and that was the one battle that he cudnt win

The scene between deepika and pc is also a highlight, a powerful scene between two powerful actresses :)

The scene were I started to cry was wen mastani said goodbye to her son, it was so sad!

Also Ranveer and Deepikas chemistry was beautiful in the film! They really presented rao and mastanis love for each other very well

There were many points in the film were I felt like crying for the characters, I just felt so bad for all three of them, so many scenes my heart was beating so fast and I was on the edge of my seat, this movie is definatley on that u hav to watch on the big screen :)

Now onto performances

Ranveers best performance! He was Bajirao! I never felt even once that he was out of character! He portrayed Bajirao in such a way that we fell in love with him, Bajirao was proud, playful, strong and always stood up for the his own rites and the rites of others, even though he betrayed kashi Ranveer made us also feel sorry for him and I rooted for his and mastanis love
Ranveer perfected the voice and dialect, my grandma just loved the way he spoke :)
So so proud of Ranveer and his progression as an actor, he gave his all to Bajirao, and he was fantastic in the action and emotional scenes!

Deepika was the perfect Mastani for me! I didn't find a single fault in her performance, deepika is one actress who has the ability to emote so well through her eyes, mastani was a strong willed women, she knew Wat she wanted and she wasn't weak or scared of anything that got in her way
The qubool hai scene and the scene where mastani confronts raos family bout the religious injustice deepika was excellent in those scenes!
And the action, the dancing in the songs deepika was so gud! She has really worked hard for this film and I am so proud of her!
Also deepika looks so beautiful!

Priyanka was fantastic as kashi, I can't imagine anyone else playing her except for pc, the playfulness of kashi and then the deep sadness that kashi went through pc portrayed it all so well! Kashi went through so many emotions, and I am so happy she didn't giv into raos families evil plans to get rid of mastani,

The supporting cast were also excellent, tanvi azmi, millind soman and vaibhav all stood out for me

For me the biggest star of this film is slb, the man is one of the bravest filmmakers! A film like bm cud hav been a risk to make in today's time but slb stuck to his belief and I am so thankful to him for giving us such a movie

Also for me the movie didn't drag at all, no scene was boring or too long, the scenes were actually quite short coz slb had to fit so much in 2.5 hrs, I really hope slb releases all the deleted scenes and maybe even a directors cut version, I am sure those deleted scenes will add to the story

I really wanna watch it again!

The irony Kashi is being called a chipku over Mastani! 😆 Really want to know which scene implied Kashi as a chipku and a rotlu?o.O
