I hear the 100 top US Universities systematically, deliberately and consciously shun Desi, and Asian kids
Thats all you need when you apply, check the box that says Asian or South East Asian the application flies into the toilet😆

I guess Desis and Asians need to suck up and take the blame for it
Just like parents homicidally go after Board exam scores in India they have started doing the same here. Some even...Renting art galleries to display their kids' shitty art
Donating big money to charity so their kids can be taken to Cambodia for summer and "look poor" in pictures.
Hire the best private coaches to get 540 and 1520 and 30 and what not on SAT and ACT.

In my 20 years in my red neck town I dont know of ONE Desi kid that went to Stanford or Ivies from here
I know a bunch of blood thirsty parents though😆

I know of many 8 year olds in Multi Variate? Calculus? and Differential Equations, in some "mega, ultra, super, special, astronomically advanced elementary schools" their kids go to.

Harvard and Princeton will not touch them with a barge pole👏

Those kids dont have TVs in their homes and do 9 hours of Math on weekends

Jas, my oldest will head to college in Aug 2017.

Kids grow up so quickly. I'm still hanging on to their childhood,trying my best that they don't grow up fast but how can u divert the effect from outside or their peers.

I don't push my kids to b the next genius but I do teach them how to use common sense in day today life.im not a tiger mom more of mama Bear who wants to smear them with love and affection😆

I don't know what they want to b but I hope I could steer them to rt.path

"nahi to" Manya bristled looking at Tan furiously

"I spoke with Bala and he suggested staying up with Mr Iyer counting the boxes of bangles" Tan laughed as if it was a "woman's job"

II looked up at Tan with gratitude

"aur Mrs Bhalla aapke ghar aaye hain kya khila rahe ho?" he asked pointedly

II smiled "I just asked Sam that" she chuckled

"Mujhe apne ghar mein bhi yahi kaam aur maayke mein bhi" Sam made a face

"I dont know... let me check on the aunts and will be right back" II stood up

"Naa jaayin puttar, koi gaal nahi, Maavir huney aayega" Ranjan coaxed her

"I am hungry, there is nothing veggie on this plate" Ii smiled

"Ofcourse" R&B nodded
Makarand took a call, as he helped Lasya walk on the grass

"Not cool" Tan said firmly waving a finger at Manya and walking away

Nandu looked at them curiously

R&B looked at Manya.

Manya was pissed her brother didnt defend her

They ate, and went up to bed at midnight, II had to be at work at 8 for a meeting.
Manya and Makarand hung out in the patio downstairs.
He shut himself in the office taking calls, she showered and changed and hit the sack

He checked on her at 1 AM ish
she lay curled up on his side, her braid extending half way down his side, the flowers all gone, her arms outside the blanket covered in beautiful bangles
One hand under her cheek
He felt s sense of smug superiority, at having won the battle with Mr Iyer

She was where he liked her to be... with him

He went to the balcony and stood in his fave spot looking out rotating his phone on the rail... and looked up pictures from Sam's baby shower

She had mocked him by the gate "Its ur sister's baby shower shouldnt u be inside?"

He chuckled

Walked back in and looked at her sleeping form and went back out

He saw Manya and makarand wandering the sprawling lawns

"It was a cheap shot" he said to himself

Manya seemed antsy and insecure around II
It wasnt getting better... only worse

"So gayi kya?" Sam texted

"Hmm" he texted back

"I am sorry for Manya's sake" Sam texted

"Huh" he grunted back

"I had a shouting match at the temple R&B" Sam texted

"I wondered" he wrote

"She had a big argument with Mr Iyer" Sam texted

"Abt?" he texted

"The fact that u cant send her to D II" Sam wrote

"Huh"

"I just dont get her" Sam's troubled plea reached out and touched him on the quiet morning

"We cant tell so many things" he texted

Sam knew what he meant... Ma's absence today from the ceremonies
Greeting II at home

Everything was so joyous, yet was missing something

"Dad cried a lot" Sam said

He didnt respond

"I know you can do it. Think about it." Sam wrote

"I do" he wrote

"U think about forgiving him?" Sam asked startled, sending a bunch of shocked and elated emojis

He wanted to say "I didnt exactly mean that" "I meant to say I think about Ma"
"I dont think about Ranjan much"
"I never thought about the two words Ranjan and forgive in the same sentence"

He didnt respond, he felt a wave of compassion for Sam
How stoically she stood in the crowd today smiling, following instructions, taking charge, helping out, playing the "Ma"

"Go to bed" he ordered instead..

A police gypsy hit its lights and screeched to a halt, blocking the road for a luxury car,
the cops hauled a drunk man out the guards cocked their guns and peered turning on the lights on the booth

Manya looked up at the balcony when R&B hit the light

"U shud probably come back in" he warned texting her
She walked in looking up at him as she did... almost stumbling on a smooth paving rock, Makarand pulled her back

The cops called for back up

II walked out to the balcony

"Kya hua?" she panicked upon hearing Jat cops screaming at the inebriated man? men?

"Oh just a traffic stop" 😳he said gently, following her back into the house

"I am going to lock the balcony doors" II warned huskily, disabling his nightly forays to his favorite abode

"U shud" he whispered going to bed with her
