Bigg Boss, the latest reality show will be aired tonight. Adapted from the international show, 'Big Brother', this Indian version of the reality show will have 13 celebrities housed together under one roof for three months. During this time, they'll have no contact with the outside world. So for three months, mobiles or television is a big no no. The channel has not disclosed the names of all the contestants except that of Rakhi Sawant, Ravi Kishen, Carol Gracious and Poonam Dhillon (who was supposed to sign the contract on Wednesday).
The set is being constructed at Karjat by the famous designer Nitin Desai, who has designed the sets of various shows like KBC, Khuljaa Sim Sim, Great Indian Laughter Challenge and several movies as well. "It all started about nine months back when some people involved with Big Brother come to India and were looking out for a site where the set of Bigg Boss could be put up. And since my set at Karjat is probably the largest, I was approached and was narrated the concept of the show. It was then that I started designing the house," explained Desai.
The house is set in an open plot surrounded by a scenic view of mountains. It has one drawing-cum-dinning room.
And there are two big bedrooms, one for the guys and the other for the girls. There is swimming pool, a fully equipped gymnasium and a high tech kitchen.
"The house overall is very high-tech. There are 32 cameras which show you every single corner of the house. The cameras are even placed underwater in the swimming pool," said Desai.
This high-tech house also has an added Indian ethnic flavour to it. "There is an Indian style chess board with horses and elephants and a Ganesh idol on the door. And there is a temple as well with Ganeshji on one side and a crucifix on the other. There is a Sikh Symbol next to the Holy Koran, which signifies unity in diversity," said Desai. It is only after celebrities enter the house, they will know which other celebrities are participating.
The first episode will aired tonight at 9pm on Sony.
