Chapter 9 -- Hope Wins...
Two days have passed away since the day they all have made a decision for register marriage. Although it was a register marriage but all rituals were performed in these two days like mehendi artist was called to apply best mehendi on Nandini's hands and legs like all brides have in there marriages.

And for haldi ritual Nandini was taken home for one day after all her check ups of that day...

This was all done by Manik. He wanted to make Nandini feel special. He knew Nandini wanted there marriage functions and rituals to be performed traditionally...

Today was the day for MANAN. Today was Nandini's operation. All preparations were done. Manik and Nandini were in Nandini's ward. No one was speaking anything. Just sitting holding each other's hand tightly and not letting go.

After few minutes of silence Manik spoke...

Manik : Nandini today is very important in our lives. I didn't know what I should say to you. But except for the one thing that is please Nandini be strong for your parents for my parents for our friends and for us. Nandini I know the pain you are going to suffer is very much. That's why please be strong. I would be waiting for you outside to take you as my bride. So please for me please be strong fight back against the pain and make our love win. So that I can take you home.

He then said after a little pause...

If at any moment you think the pain is unbearable so just think about our beautiful moments. And the beautiful moments we are going to have ahead.

He was about to say more but nandini hugged him tightly.

And then both started crying. Manik was trying to show himself strong in front of Nandini but when Nandini hugged him he can't hold back more and started crying. Whereas Nandini was listening him but she found out that he needs her. He needs to have peace. She knew he will not say anything to her so she hugged him and as she guessed he broke down in her arms.

Also both were fearing what if those 10% chances of unsuccessful surgery. What if she loose her memory...

By only these thoughts they both were frightened.

Nandini asked Manik...

Nandini : Manik will you promise me something.

Manik : of course Nandini... Anything for you...

Nandini : Manik even if forgot you then also please don't leave my side. And please make me marry to you anyhow.

Manik was taken aback for a second. He thought how can she forget him. And how can he make her force for any thing. This thought only was making him insane. So he said...

Manik : kya bol rahi ho tum Nandini... Are you mad... You can't forget me... You are mine and only mine... You can't forget me... No you can't... I love you and you too love me ... How cute you forget me ...no you can't...

Manik was keep on saying that his Nandini his Angel his soul his own life can't forget him. He was not listening what Nandini was saying...

So to calm him down Nandini hugged him tightly... While hugging him only Nandini said ...

Nandini : Mani calm down ... Please listen to me once calmly... Manik I love you and only you ... And no one can change that fact ... Manik after this surgery I do not know what will happen to my memory... I do not know whether I would be able to remember my past or not but in my life only one thing that matters to me is that I love you and I can't afford to lose you... Manik even if I lose my memory I can not afford to lose you ... That is why this is the only reason I want you to marry me even if I lose my memory... Manik please understand my point of view... Please Manik please marry me even if I lose my memory... Please

Saying this she broke down in Manik's arms. Manik who was calm and understood her point of view. So when she needed him ... He gathered him in his arms and hugged her more tightly.

Manik was caressing her back and patting her head. When he felt she was calmed down. He said...

Manik : Nandini this is a tough time ... This will pass by... You needed to be strong both of us... Nandini I promise I will never let us part our ways in any situation. After this also we will more stronger than before... Aur jahan tak baat shadi toh let me remind you we are already married Mrs. Manik Malhotra.

Saying this he kissed her on her temple, then on both eyes, then on both cheeks, then on her chin and then finally on her lips. This kiss was of pure love and assurance of both to each other that in any situation or what may happen they will not leave each other...

After few moments they broke the kiss. And rested their foreheads against each other.

After spending few more beautiful moments by talking, cuddling, hugging they were forced to give break to their happy moments as it was nurse who knocked on the door to take Nandini for surgery.

Manik hugged her for last and final time and let her go for the surgery.

Now it was surgery time. Everyone was wishing Nandini all the best and saying her to be strong and fight with it. But only person was standing in corner and watching Nandini's every single expression and was trying to register in his mind and his heart.

Yes it was none other than Manik who was feeling every second which was passing by. Nandini saw him for the last time and smiled and to which Manik also smiled. And then Nandini left for the surgery.

Outside operation theater
Everyone was sitting praying for Nandini. All have focused their eyes on operation theater door. Whereas Manik immediately left hospital when she was taken for surgery in OT.

From hospital he had gone to the same temple where Manik and Nandini got married. He just went there and sat in a corner and prayed for her love...

He not for once moved from his place just kept staring at the idol of God sitting on same place. When ever some one asked something he just says one thing rather a name. Name of his love... That is only and only NANDINI...

Now it was 5am in the morning. It was 5 hours since the operation had started. It was the day of their marriage... It was to be most happy day of Manik and Nandini's lives but starting of this day was so tensing with everyone...

But its a saying that nothing happens wrong and bad with good people... And also everything happens for good...

After more half hour Aman came out with a smile on his face. Seeing him everyone rushed to him and asked about Nandini's health...

Then Aman told about most awaited news. ..

Aman : surgery was successful... Nandini theek hai ab...

Listening this everyone jumped in joy ... And hugged each other...

Aman realizing absence of Manik asked everyone...

Aman : Manik kahan hai guys... Nandini is her conscious. I guess she would definitely want to meet Manik.

Then and there only all realized that Manik is missing. Cabir then called Manik but Manik not answered the call.
So he again called him...

Whereas Manik was sitting in Temple at the same corner praying for Nandini. He after sometime realized that his cell phone was ringing.

He then attended call at once and said

Manik : Cabir how's my nandu... Haa tell is she fine... Surgery was successful or not... Please tell

Cabir : Nandini is fine Manik. Surgery was successful. And now she wants to meet you but tu kahan hai. Come fast bro. Please come...

Listening this Manik hang up the call and ran out from there but not after thanking God.

Manik reached hospital and rushed towards Nandini's ward. He entered in the ward and released his breath which he was holding unknowingly.

Manik and Nandini saw each other and smiled. Nandini asked him to come to her through her eyes. He took slow steps towards her. Manik come towards her and kissed her forehead.

He then called Aman to ask about Nandini to which Manik said he would come in her ward in a minute and discuss about it at that time.

Until Aman came Manik and Nandini kept staring at each other assuring each other presence in their lives.

When Aman came Manik straight forwardly asked...

Manik : Aman how's she ...

Aman : Manik she's fine... But you have to make sure that no strain should be given on her back till a month as the surgery was done through back. So she have stitches on her back... And after a month too less movement till stitches are fine...

Manik was listening to it like a good student and noting every single point in his mind... Then Aman continued...

Aman : Manik rest all is fine... Only one thing is that no strain should be given to her back... And yeah Manik you can also take her home ... As she also needs homely feeling to recover soon... I have made all discharge papers ready... You come and sign them and take your bride home...

He said last bit with a wink ;)... And saying this he went out ... As soon as he went out Manik hugged Nandini... Not so tightly making sure her back is fine... And then he said...

Manik : Nandini I love you...

Nandini : I love you too Manik...

Her voice was extremely low... Showing her weakness and Manik understood that she is weak so he should break the hug so that her back don't feel more strain...

He then said...

Manik : Nandini main tumhari discharge ki sari formalities puri karke aata hoon till then you rest...

...
