TOI:Sayantani Ghosh as goddess of jealousy in mythological show

Sayantani Ghosh, who seems to be in a happy space professionally, has explored various shades on TV " negative and positive " with ease; her last being a negative character in Itna Karo Na Mujhe Pyar. Her next is a mythological, which is her second after her Satyavati act in Mahabharat. She will be seen as Poulomi " the goddess of jealousy " in Santoshi Maa. She says, "While every other goddess has a mention in the mythology, the character of Poulomi is fictional. The basic idea is that if there is no destruction, there is no creation and hence, an antagonist was required to complete the show. The very fact that it's a fictional character allows them to play it up. I am glad that I am getting to try various genres, specially in a fiercely competitive industry like television."
