I really wanted to avoid jumping in the fray and feed this fire but just couldn't resist.😆
Anyway, my two cents...Jodha has been just married into a completely different culture and religion to the enemy. She has been humiliated, terrorised and made a joke of en route to Agra by her own dear husband.😭1)Jalal telling MA to get Jodha to sing in front of all his men.👎🏼2)Talking about koova and paani in front of his courtiers about his new wife. Really??? You could almost see Sharif salivating at the picture Jalal's words conjured up in his mind.👎🏼3)Going into her Khema when she refused to oblige and literally terrorising her out of her mind. Imagine, the most powerful man in the country threatening you in the face in that maniacal way that he did.Of course to us it was all very romantic and hot(especially because of Jalal...) because we know where they are headed but Jodha does not.4)The chicken trick. Again very romantic for us but really a very mean and low trick to pull on someone who is your newly wedded wife. It would have been different if this was a normal marriage or if Jalal was genuinely hurt.MA's face said it all. It is almost as if he wanted to make a servant out of Jodha. Then after doing this, he walks out of there and right in front of all his men, slashes the bandage open and swings the sword around and then walks away with a smile and bounce.👎🏼How can this not undermine Jodha's standing in front of all his subordinates? Unfortunately Jodha sees all this.😭Agra: Jodha is thrust into this totally alien world...one look at how Ruksar begum shoves that paan into her own mouth after Jodha refuses it is enough to tell us just how different.😕Her only ray of hope is Hamida Begum, though there is no relation there...yet.After 1,3 and 4 above I think Jodha was totally justified holding her nose up high. In fact if you ask me.. it was not high enough.😒 Nowhere did she come across as indignified to me. She could have been a little more diplomatic but give me a frank up front woman anyday over one who pretends sweetness and submission, be it Queen or not.The problem is that just as Jodha is still grappling with the thought that Jalal is her husband, Jalal too has not really accepted her as his wife. If Jodha were a little soft towards him, he would have probably not been as riled up. But then to me this Jodha is more my kind. Someone who is honest in her feelings without any facade.I hope the real HK was at least somewhat similar to this one. He had tons of other women who might have been submissive and willing do to whatever he wanted. There! Not that I added anything of value to this conversation...😆Have a great rest of your Sunday!
In my opinion, because he really wanted her to see it!😛
