In Chakravartin Ashoka Samrat, we see Sushim being extremely jealous towards Ashok. Sushim's character in the show is insecure, arrogant and egoistic. Sushim meets Ashok for the first time in the show in the horse stable or Ashwalay, where their encounter was very unpleasant. Sushim and Ashoka are born rivals, be it in the eyes of Bindusara, or in the royal school aka Raj Ki Vidyalay. We have seen Sushim planning to harm Ashoka several times in several ways. Coincidentally, Ashok always comes to know about Sushim's misdeeds which leads both into trouble. Sushim even planned to harm Ashoka by pretending to be his friend.
Sushim was beaten by Ashok, and in return, Sushim whipped Ashok. After Ashok's entering the Raj Ki Vidyalay, Sushim has tried numerous times to demean Ashok. These incidents ended up in the latter and former hating each other. The portrayal of their rivalry on screen has not effected their off screen friendship. From the pics, we all know how good friends Siddharth Nigam (Ashoka) and Sumedh Mugdalkar (Sushim) is! 😉😆

If there is one person who is always with Sushim, it is his mother, Maharani Charumitra. She is the coolest mothers ever. Sushim is the apple of his mother's eye, and Charumitra's only aim is to make Sushim the King of Magadh. She can go to any distance for her son. He is more precious to her than her life. But the wicked Queen does not hesitate to slap or confront his son in case he is becoming callous. Although for the wrong motive, she keeps proper track of what her son is doing. Sushim too is dependant on his mother in everything, from being saved from his father or hiding his tears. Charumita and Sushim are partners in every crime, and secret keepers of each other. Even though evil, it is loads of fun to watch this mother-son duo on screen, conspiring against their rivals, or even badmouthing other queens and princes. (Read: Rani Noor, Siamak)
