While folks celebrate raksha band hain, we have a festival called Upakarma.
Men in the family change the holy thread...janvaara...that they wear across their shoulders.
We have our typical customary lunch.
Then we plan to go visit my sister in law, she ties rakhi to my husband, my daughter to her cousin.
