Hey guys, I'm a silent reader in this forum and this is one of the handful of times I'm making a post. i'm also not from India so don"t know much about the history.

I'm wanting to know the real story of Pratap and Ajabde. I've been looking through the net to find some info and there are a lot of stories. And I'm a bit confuse by all of it.

I mean was it a true love story? and was she the only wife of his that he truly loved and the other marriages were just political alliances?

So if anyone knows the true story plzz tell.

Pratap- Ajabde's story well am not sure how much of the story shown by CVs is true but I do know this

Pratap knew her before his wedding and they were very good friends. She was his advisor on all fronts and yes he loved and cared for her more than any other of his alliances. In fact he went ahead with the alliances once she agreed or maybe she told him to - am a bit confused about this part

Amar Singh his first born with her was his favourite and it is said that after her death Pratap didn;t eat or drink for 3 days straight as he was inconsolable.. He even married her sister Ratan because of the promise she took from him on her death bed

Waise ask Abhay, Kaana as these guys are like this huge volcano of history and they know mostly everything

welcome to the forum.

i think love story part might be true knowing fact pratap is US first child and Ajab is coming from samant family. US got married to samant putri JB too but at that time he was not king. To let pratap married to ajab has to do something about their friendship and love and top of that sure abjab had all good quality to fit in.

after loosing in haldighaat start living in arravali jangals was ajabs idea (correct me if i am wrong i have read somewhere) and pratap just followed her.

little bit sharing that i know about

JB was not a samant putri...her father was the king of jalore...atleast thts wat I know. ..can someone please confirm. ..

Hello ... Well, as far as I know, Rajputana always respected their King's personal lives and never werethere any histoical accounts of their marriages or love as such. Maharani Ajabde Punwar was the Queen Mother and first wife of the Mewar Sisodias and a daughter to Rao RamRakh Punwar who happened to be Rana Udai Singh's court advisor. She was also in some ways a relative to the famous Chauhans but her social rank was lesser than that of Kings.

There are three folktale versions of their story,

1. Pratap met her in theoutskirts of chittor when he and jaivanta Bai lived as commoners for some time. His disguise helped him become friends with this simple girl with hih ideologies and finally he lost his heart. Udai Singh opposed the match but agreed later in the fear to losePratap. Ajabde never had a place in the Ranimahal. she was given a special house outsidee the Ranimahal as she was not a princess.

2. The Bijoliaversion, most of it. Chauhans lived in Bijolia, One of the chauhans were married toRR's sister and hence they lived in Bijolia. Pratap was send there on work, when they met (with no Phool Involved) and fell in love.

3. This version is a bit vague that RR lived in Chittorgarh itself and PrAja grew up together as friendship turned to love. And Udai Singh asked RR for her hand as Gratitude for immense help in Marwar war.

What we know for sure is that they were in love, despite differing statuses, they were friends, they stood byeach other and Amar Singh and Bhagwan Das were their sons. He also took her advises in court matters and his life as well.

Jaivanta Bai's father ruled Bundi briefly, before Rao Surtan Singh defeated him. He was a great man, Pratap's father figure. Pratap learned a lot frm him. He died at Chittor foothills when JB had left with Pratap afterdifferences with US
