does everyone think its that different, drugging a girl against her will and having sex with a girl against her will? i guess it is. but can it be compared on a scale and declared that drugging someone against their will is better than raping her? from someone whose experienced it first hand, the drugs...it invades your mind, makes you feel whatever the perpetrator does is ok cos your in a cloud of euphoria, you don't even have the senses to think something terribly wrong is happening to you, later on you can't even tell if your to blame or the other person, it alienates you from your will, doesn't even give you a struggling chance. the paranoia of what follows; you literally start suspecting every single person in your life, i still can't stop the flinching at the back of my mind before taking a drink from even the near and dear but i hide it well now. the trauma is crazy once you find out whats been happening to you, just imagine if you find out that people doing it are the ones close to you. and as for your body, they're not really showing a very realistic form of the toll it takes on your body, fair i guess they've only given it to her like 3 times (actually with heroin that many times and in the span of 72 hours can totally cause withdrawals if she doesn't get a fix in the next 24), but in reality you actually feel like your blood vessels are about to pop without it, you feel cold like someone took away all the warmth around you and yet the cold sweats don't stop, your muscles and bones never stop aching and the sleeplessness drives you crazier. and guess what, its like cancer, theres no cure only remission. your not an addict as long as you can stay sober of the drug, do it once more and your back to square one. the act and the drug- it kills your soul, pushes you into a place so dark that it feels likes theres no place out. just like i imagine rape victims feel. i think people have such a strong reaction to being raped because every girl can unfortunately imagine the trauma of it, but being drugged against your will isn't something as 'common' or as discussed i guess. so, having shared a very dark part of my life on a public forum, can we really let a perpetrator of this act get away just cos he's 'atleast not raping her'? can you guarantee its 'not as bad' as getting raped? i was honestly going to become a silent reader in the forum till my ff was complete and then leave, I've stopped watching the show, but i thought this topic deserved a bit of a reality check (and people have hit a VERY raw nerve with their shocking lack of understanding about how serious a situation this is, its more so the cvs' fault than the viewers but still, hit a raw nerve). I've heard all sorts of excuses made for Sanskaar from people who want swasan or ragya or just general varun and helly fans cos they wanna see a love hate story- snacker is atleast not related to swara so its not as bad as what ragini did- why? cos he's not related to swara and thus isn't obligated to care about her? well then i guess everytime someone physically abuses a stranger, we'll just say thank god atleast its not his brother or sister. sanskaar atleast has a backstory to make us sympathize with what he is doing...i ask you- what backstory justifies this? revenge against DP and Laksh? lets assume for a second they are guilty, what did swara do to deserve this? if snacker is SO sure of their guilt then stop pretending you bloody coward and tell swara everything head on. surely you have ample proof if your making such hard accusations. instead he's destroying a living, innocent girl's life, one block at a time for some revenge he's not even sure about for a girl who'll never come back. he's a 26 year old adult with no judgement. i can't even give him the excuse of youth. what is swara's fault- that she loved by Laksh? thats hardly something she could help. To compare rape and getting forcefully drugged into a potential addiction, to judge which is worse, is like comparing cutting the vein on your hands or cutting the vein on your neck to see which would bleed you out quicker. The end result is bleeding to death. So its not really something to sigh relief that he won't rape her; cos what he's doing now isn't really that much better despite of the cvs portraying it as a light hearted roofie. and just because he doesn't plan to tarnish her body and reputation himself doesn't mean squat, the person who did it to me was not trying to tarnish my reputation or rape me, he was trying to make me more 'fun'. but it violated me. if it weren't for me growing up in a first world country, my chances of going to a good school or having a future would've been 0. for swara, if she's declared a drug addict, it means the end of any kind of society for her- noone will marry her (other than Sanskaar or Laksh if Ragini doesn't 'get' him), and forget about marriage people will automatically assume things about her upbringing and character, she'll never get a job or get admission anywhere, so her life, dreams and ambitions would end.and those sprouting, what to me is utter nonsense (I'm not really sorry if this offends you guys cos as i said Im offended) about love-hate relationship on tv, why is it so important to be titilated by a 'love-hate' story that you'd put your moral compass to the side and actively WANT Swara to marry the man doing this to her. would you guys feel the same way if she was raped, not by him, but by one of the guys at that shady pub whilst she was under the influence of smack? or if she's dragged to rehab, accused of being an addict just for some 'love-hate' shit? i literally feel nauseous and have goosebumps just thinking of even having coffee sitting next to him, let alone marrying the person who did this to me. if you really do root for this then i guess your either extremely young and abhorrently immature or very fortunate to have lived a very guarded life that you fantasize about such skewed things. but the reality of this situation is SO dark that it'll make your skin crawl. both rape and drugging someone leaves the person physically, mentally and spiritually scarred. how can watching a love-hate story be more important than having a BASIC moral stand? you can say all the excuses of TRP aunties like this and its just fiction, but really, the TRP aunties are your mothers and your grandmothers and friends and aunts and older sisters, you CAN change how they view marriage as a fix-all of moral dilemmas, if you demand better, they will demand better, the media will be OBLIGATED to show better! media is POWERFUL, if it changes, you can't even imagine the ripple effect on society.
I wrote this (now edited) on another thread but the topic maker requested that i make it a separate topic. i hope it'll give some perspective to those who seem to lack it where this issue is concerned. the way the cvs are handling the drug incident and snacker and ragini's involvement in it, as if they're playing a small prank to get what they want, like innocent children who don't know any better, its UNACCEPTABLE. they've doused her with heroin 3 times in less than 72 hours. thats enough to give her cravings and withdrawal. as someone whose been through the experience of being drugged without my knowledge, i thought to share it with other members. all women can understand the potential trauma of rape but being drugged and made to do whatever, its not a commonly discussed issue. theres an immediate judgement, not sympathy, attached to drug addiction. perhaps thats why this phenomenon is not widely discussed perhaps. but they ruin your life. cvs clearly have a knowledge gap in this issue and are thus showing this so casually and clearly even amongst the audience theres a large gap of knowledge regarding the effects and trauma of what is happening to swara, otherwise idk how they can hope to see snacker get redemption through a love-hate story with swara of all people. its disturbing.

The problem is a gross lack of awareness. Also the Production Heads' tendencies to tap into the huge market for "love-hate" stuff, especially among teenage girls.

what this show is showing, is so disgusting and even more important, it is having avery harmful effect on society...this serial is actually justifying, glorifying such heinous criminal acts to these impressionable adolescent audience...
I would request all the members to please write to the channel and production house to stop such wrong interpretations f a crime , atleast in TWITTER...
we cant sit back and allow this to continue...
P.S I WONT START WATCHING THIS SHOW UNTIL THIS TRACK IS DONE AWAY WITH, WITH PROPER PUNISHMENTS METED OUT TO THE TWO CRIMINALS.

Actually, that's the reason I asked Tejaswini to open the topic. So that either the Creatives spot it, OR someone reports the issue to them via Twitter. Hope it will work.

I went to twitter just to check how people have been responding to the actors regd this track, and almost all of them are so concerned about how swara is looking, how ragini, laksh are looking, who will get married to whom...and not a single post on this drug track!!!! I am shocked !
I mean are we the only sane people , in this only (sane )forum, where the gravity of this track is being so seriously discussed...the audience is actually okay with it!🥱 BOO !!
I HAVE NO HOPE LEFT...maybe its true after all, that people deserve the society they live in...

Hon your hoping for too much. It's ok. I don't expect everyone to think so deeply about it. This is a country where marital rape is still legal. And how many people think about that. There've been many serials where this happened and people have still vouched by their love-hate relationship. But I just hope that we can make posts that'll at the very least force people to think about these issues.

Heroin is a very dangerous drug. You need to take it only once to get addicted. Was in a relationship with an addict. Have seen first hand, the harm it causes. I salute you for being a successful ex addict. Respect.

The only way to get a reaction regarding the drug track is to hound the channel heads. I say this repeatedly, creatives and channels need to treat some of the tracks they bring, responsibly. Drugs, rape, sexual harassment, murder, the list could go on... Are some of the issues that are treated very poorly on TV soaps.
