Part I The Wedding

"He asked for your hand in marriage, Vibha."

Vibha suddenly felt a shiver throughout her body as she bit her lip sharply. She knew what was coming next.

"I'm sorry."

Her vision blurred as she stared at her grandmother's talking figure and with much effort, fought down the huge lump in her throat. Her mind raced with thoughts.

Vibha understood her position in life. She had no dreams nor any hopes beyond her current reality. She was never a believer in fairy tales. She knew a huge amount had been paid to her family in the name of dowry. And she knew that was what her family needed the most right now.

She had to do her duty.

Duty was above all.
.._..

Parth stared at the lady in front of him decorated with embroidery and jewelry. Her gorgeous, wine suit only beautified her elegance even more. His own appearance was elaborate and elegant despite wearing his father's black and gold wedding suit. He had insisted on wearing it silencing his mother by claiming it would be as if his father were with him on his most important day. Parth could hardly see through the veil on his face as he weighed himself between his childish notions and family expectations. He was ready for this. He was.

His eyebrows furrowed with curiosity as he scanned the icy exterior his wife held. What was wrong with her? She looked extremely pale and lifeless as she completed the wedding rituals. She was completely different from when he had first seen her. His heart fell as he continued to search her face for any kind of expression.

'What is it that you are feeling?'
.._..

Parth was frustrated to say the least. And his frustration only increased as the hours passed. He couldn't count how many times he fidgeted and swayed yet his wife remained unmoving and impassive as ever holding her head high and her shoulders straight. After their long wedding ceremony and drawn out reception, he finally seized the opportunity to speak to her.
He found her standing alone just when some relatives had departed her. He mustered enough courage to grab one of her long, slim fingers. It was enough to get her attention. Parth frowned at her lifeless and dull eyes.

"What's wrong with you?" He questioned softly as he stared into her brown orbs. He received no answer. He rephrased his question as she deferred his curious stare.

"Is there something wrong?"

"Nothing," she monotonously replied.

"Then why do you look unhappy?" Her big eyes reflected something for a second but it disappeared before he could read it. He gulped nervously as he continued to penetrate through her indifferent self.

"Is there someone else?"

"No!" She sharply denied glaring at him.

"Is it my age?"

"N..no."

He felt hurt at her hesitation. "It is, isn't it?" He clarified. She simply uttered a meek, "People are watching," and pried herself from his grasp.
.._..

Vibha allowed herself to breath once she reached an empty corner of the reception hall. The thump in her chest increased as she endlessly blinked away the stinging tears threatening to fall any second. Why was she feeling this way? She had prepared herself. She was ready to fulfill her duty. Closing her eyes, she remembered her grandmother's parting words to her.

"All the best, Vibha."

"Thank you for everything, Dadi." Vibha grabbed her grandma's hands in hers. "For your love and
support."

"I will vist. When your father gets better." Her grandmother's apologetic eyes met Vibha's sad ones.

"I promise."

"I know, Dadi. You never break your promises."

They shared one last bittersweet smile holding back the urge to grab each other in an embrace and cry.

"Vibha."

"H..hmn?"

"Give him a chance."

.._..

Parth's eyes scanned the contents of his father's letter over and over again. "Learn to love her truly." "Protect her and care for her." He scowled, feeling angry all of a sudden. What was that supposed to mean? Did his dad think he couldn't protect her? He was 20 already. Sure, she was older and probably more mature but of course he would be able to protect her. He was a man after all.

He was her husband after all.

His feet started determinedly in a certain direction stopping at the sight of a figure behind a pillar.

He immediately grabbed his newly wedded wife to face him and started, "I need to tell you something." Parth paused for a moment noticing her disheveled state before continuing, "It's something that's been..." He cleared his throat as he tried to keep his emotions in check. "It's something that's been bothering me ever since we met." He scratched the back of his head as he continued to hold her in place. Blinking continuously, he danced on his feet for a while before he raised his voice and declared, "Your age doesn't matter to me at all! And I...I hope mine doesn't matter to you either!"

Vibha's hand immediately rose to cover his mouth.

"It doesn't," she confirmed and bit her lip in embarrassment at the people looking in their direction.

"It doesn't matter to me at all," she finished and removed her hand from his lips.

"And I'm sorry for the way I behaved earlier." She offered, hoping to ease her companion.

Parth's eyes widened at the unexpected response. His lips quirked upward as he breathed a sigh of relief. "It's okay. I can understand how you feel. He scowled, "I'm not a kid". And I..I respect you despite what you might think of me. I just" -His scowl deepened- "I just want to know..."

His eyes met hers as his hand slowly dropped from her arm to his side.

"Who you really are." Parth finished.

Vibha held his penetrating stare.

'I'd like to know you too.'

They stood still. Silence surrounded them yet they held a conversation of a million words.

Part II The Comfort

Vibha gulped as she laid against her side. Parth laid next to her crossing his arms under his head and staring at the ceiling above.

Both were uncomfortable.

Both uneasy.

Vibha found ease in the soft pitter-patter of the drizzling rain from the window behind them. Parth had opened the window for her allowing a soft breeze into their room, something she appreciated.

She had always loved the rain.

"No..don't." Vibha's train of thoughts were interrupted when she heard a soft mumble. She debated whether to turn over or to continue her pretense of sleeping.

"Stop. Don't..." She figured he was drowned in his sleep and so carefully turned to look at him.

"Vibha, do you know what you do when your husband is having nightmares?"

"What do you do, Dadi?" Vibha nonchalantly asked as she looked at her grandmother. She was always the least bit interested in her grandmother's countless housewife lessons.

Her grandmother simply smiled at her as she continued to massage Vibha's hair. "You do your best to comfort him."

Vibha stared at her husband's pensive face. His face scrunched as he continued his mumblings. A dark loom spread over him. She found it was easier to look at him while he was sleeping.

"Don't...my mother."

She slowly placed her hand over her husband's shoulder and softly pressed it. She hoped it would soothe him enough to rid him of his nightmare.

"Your mother." Vibha softly whispered.

She gasped when Parth turned around and faced her. His face was now mere inches from hers. Attracted to the heat radiating from her, he suddenly clasped his arm over her waist and pulled her closer to her. Vibha blushed furiously as Parth buried his face deep into her neck.

"Parth." Vibha gulped as her heartbeat increased rapidly. Parth slowly relaxed in her embrace and Vibha realized that her hand had found its way from his shoulder to his head. She slowly began to graze his hair as she looked down at him. She smiled at the innocence drawn over his face.

"Parth," she softly repeated.
.._..

"Good morning, Ma." Vibha smiled at her new mother as she entered the kitchen.

"Good morning, Vibha." Parth's mom smiled back. "Would you like to have some tea?"

"Yes, please."

Parth's mom chuckled at Vibha's weary state. "I hope my son did not keep you up."

"No-"

"I know about his nightmares, beta." She sighed as she continued, "We had a difficult time in the
past. I'm sure you can understand. But now, things are a lot better. With his father back and now you here, by his side. I'm sure you'll help him overcome it all."

She handed Vibha a cup of warm milk tea and sat down across from her. Looking out through the misty window, she said, "He's young but he's stronger than you might think. The circumstances in life shape a person. Behind the stiff exterior, my son is as warm and innocent as a newborn baby."

Vibha smiled at her mother's words. She could feel a slight blossoming feeling in her chest. A hope had appeared. She felt like there was really nothing to be afraid of. They shared the same feelings, after all. They were both nervous about each other's lifestyle but were willing to learn. To know each other. They were in tune with each other all long, she realized.

"Good morning." A small mutter came into the room causing both women to look up.

Vibha smiled at Parth who looked taken aback but merely blinked away.

"Good morning, beta" his mother greeted. She immediately got up to pour her son some tea while

Parth took her seat across Vibha.

They sat in silence for a while. Parth shifted nervously before starting, "I was wondering, if you were willing of course, if you...um..." He watched her from the corner of his eyes as he faced the window.

"What were you wondering, Parth?" Vibha encouraged him.

"I was wondering if you wanted to come with me to the market today," he simply stated. He still didn't look at her as he quickly rambled. "The Main House is still not ready yet and the servants are there so...and we're out of groceries and-"

There was a moment of silence before unwillingly Vibha allowed a small chuckle to escape her lips causing Parth to finally look at her. Another moment and both Vibha and Parth were both laughing.

Parth's mom paused in the middle of pouring her son's tea when she heard an unusual but sweet sound of laughter in her house. Her eyes turned to look at them. Vibha pushed a strand of hair behind her ear as she smiled and laughed at Parth who shared the same laughter with a string of embarrassment tied to it.

It had been a long time, a very long time since she heard the sound of laughter in her life. And she was certain she had never heard her son, Parth laugh like that. She felt her eyes tear up.
It was such a beautiful sound.
.._..
Part III The Companionship

"A dozen? That's a lot for just the two of you," the shopkeeper commented.

Parth merely scowled. "It's for the guests," Vibha quickly advised the nosy shopkeeper.

"Ah, of course. Newlyweds, that's right. You're bound to have plenty guests."

The shopkeeper laughed at the awkward couple. "The lady seems upset. She must be embarrassed to be out in public with you, Parth."

Parth who was about to retort became surprised and looked at his wife. "No!" Vibha replied quickly.

She blushed as she insisted, "I'm okay."

Parth sighed, "It might take a few more minutes, Vibha. If you're uncomfortable, you can go back home."

The shopkeeper interrupted, "You would allow your newly wedded wife to walk home in the cold streets of Dehradun! That too, unguarded. Shame on you, Parth! And we all thought you had finally grown to be a man!"

"Shut up!" Parth threw over his shoulder before turning back to his wife.

"I'm fine. Really," she reassured him.

Parth smiled at her and went back to the old shopkeeper. "Well, you heard her." He grinned proudly,
"She's not embarrassed at all to be with me."

"You've got yourself a nice lady there." The shopkeeper smiled. "And beautiful too." He complimented Vibha bluntly.

Parth's eyes slinted threateningly, "Keep your eyeballs inside your shop."

The old shopkeeper just ignored him and laughed while Vibha shifted her feet beside her husband embarrassed at the attention they were getting. The old man handed them their bags and waved them off. "See you next week!"

.._..

She smiled down at her gold saree with blue embroidery sparkling over it, feeling a new sort of confidence in her every step as she trailed behind her husband.

"Come on, Vibha." She looked up to see Parth who had stopped walking and was now ushering her over. "Don't walk behind me," Parth whispered as she came up to him. They looked at each other for a moment. "You're my wife, I want you to stay beside me." Vibha read a million meanings behind his one statement.

He broke their locked gaze and looked ahead down the foggy street. "You're probably not used to this, right? Going shopping for grocery." He crossed his arms, his face hardening as he suddenly became nervous. "You're...You're probably disgusted, aren't you?"

Vibha bit her lip as she reminisced her own past. She had lived like a princess for sure. Until a short time ago. Since then, she had grown accustomed to things like streets, taxis, and markets.

"I'm not," she replied to him. "And I admire that you do things like this despite being so young and successful," she concluded. Parth took a moment to register her words before a small blush crept upon his cheeks.

Vibha didn't like the sudden silent and serious atmosphere. "Besides, I've realized we make a good team," she began playfully.

Parth stopped in his tracks immediately forcing her to look back at him. He stared straight into her eyes intensely which she found unexpected and confusing. "You really mean that? You think... we make a good partnership?"

"Yes." She casually replied unaware of how much this affected him. Regaining composure, he walked up to her intimately bumping his hand into hers in the process. He suddenly became conscious of their close proximity. Vibha, who was heavily aware of the unspoken awkwardness sizzling between them allowed her fingers to linger against his hand. Parth didn't say a word. Without looking at her, he slowly moved his hand so that it covered her own.

Despite the increased thumping in her heart and the slight flutter in her stomach, Vibha boldly threaded their fingers together to prove she meant what she said. She instantly heard his sharp intake of breath as he blushed furiously. Her own cheeks were ignited. Still, neither of them let go as they continued to walk down the pathway of trees. Side by side. Hand in hand. Closer than before.

Part IV The Burning Sensation

That intimate gesture had opened new doors for Parth and Vibha. As simple as it was, it allowed them to communicate through more simple, physical gestures. Most people would say they hardly ever touched.

Parth, however, was aware of each and every one of them. The soft nudges, the placing of the hand over the arms. Twice she had ruffled his hair allowing her hand to rest there for a moment while she smiled at him sweetly.

The most intimate moment, though, had taken place when Parth came back from the gym while Vibha was drying the plates over the kitchen counter. She sighed and rolled her eyes at his dirty state. She was comfortable enough to tease him about it while he sheepishly scratched the back of his head. She watched him as he walked past her and washed his face over the sink. When he was done, she noticed there was still traces of dirt on his face and so letting go of the plate in her hand, she walked over to him and without thought grabbed his shoulder to pull him down to her.
She didn't even realize the effect her actions had on him until she finished wiping away the smudges on his forehead. She became conscious of his intense eyes locked firmly upon her lips until they slowly moved up to meet with her eyes. He held her gaze for what seemed like a scorching blaze of eternity.

Vibha abruptly let go of him and turned around. Closing her eyes, she pulled the cool towel in her hand closer to her chest hoping it would calm down the increased beating of her heart.

Parth, who was a bit hurt by her sudden reaction and embarrassed about the whole thing just spluttered something about how he wasn't a kid and that he could clean himself up and left. Vibha could hardly hear him over the fierce pounding of her heart.

Naturally, no word was said about the incident. Until one day, the arrival of an intruder forced all the unsaid between them to finally, explode.
.._..

Parth was a usually calm and composed person. He was similar to his wife though obviously the more stiff one and very rarely showing any emotion. His composure was rigid but his face completely opposite as he stood against a pillar and smiled at his wife who was busy with some documents. One moment her face would be pensive and concentrated and the next she would burst into a huge smile, her beautiful eyes sparkling immensely.

To put it simply, he was enchanted. His heart fluttered at every expression she made. Many times, his mother had passed by and just knowingly smiled at him but he still wouldn't look away. He unconsciously took a step toward her when his daze was broken by a doorbell. His eyes trailed after Vibha who looked up and immediately went to answer it.

Parth felt like he had drowned in cold water rendering him paralyzed when she spread her arms out to hug the guest. His heart began to beat faster as he held his breath. He could only watch as his wife smiled at another man. As she touched another man. Anger and something else. Something painful that squeezed his insides.

'That should be me.' He thought as he fisted his hands that threatened to tear the man away from his wife.
.._..

"I don't think your husband likes me very much." Manik sighed as he walked around and turned to face Vibha who was sitting at a white table.

"It's not like that. He's just more reserved than others. He keeps to himself mostly."

"You've gotten to know him quite well."

"Of course, we live with each other." She pointed out as if that would explain everything. "And...he's my husband after all."

"Yeah, anyway, I'm just glad to see you." Manik smirked at her. "I feel like those days are once again alive."

"Yeah, I know."

She smiled at her friend as he leaned against the frame of the gazebo and looked out. She could not deny she missed him and seeing him again she relived her comfortable and youthful school days. It had been three days since he had arrived. She frowned suddenly. And three days, she realized, since she had seen her husband. He would disappear early in the morning and arrive late in the night. She tried her best but every time she heard the sound of the door or the sound of footsteps her head would jerk up and every time her face would fall in disappointment at the sight of someone other than the one occupying her thoughts.

"Hey." Vibha's train of thoughts were interrupted at the sight of a pair of fingers being snapped in her face.

"You zoned out again for like the tenth time today. Thinking about him again?"

"No I'm just-"

"Worrying about him again?" Manik smirked, amusement playing in his eyes.

Vibha rolled her eyes and sighed, "It's not like that."

"Then what is it like, Vibha? Because to me, it's like you've been really missing your husband."

Vibha's eyes widened at her friend's frankness. A long awkward pause ensued between them.
"And it also seems like you love him even," Manik added. After a silent moment. "Do you?" He pressed.

At her silence, he walked over to Vibha and pulled her hands making her stand up.

"Damn! That fast, Vibha? And he's what 4, no 5 years younger than you. Anyway, who cares about that! I'm happy for you yaar." He pulled her into a hug excitedly, ignoring her denial and pleas.

"Get your hands off of her!...Now!"
.._..

Three days had passed. Three days since the arrival of his wife's friend. 'Best friend' she added with a smile that had appeared so sickening to him. The man would so often visit that it felt like he actually lived with them.

Parth scowled. He didn't know why but he had to go. He had to. He was hurting. And he hated it. He couldn't bear her standing next to him and talking for hours and hours about things he had no share in. It was pathetic of him to leave but it was better than being there and watching his wife laugh and tease another man. It was clear she enjoyed his company and wanted him to stay. That drove him mad and away from his house and family.

He was a real idiot. He wanted to get rid of the intruder but instead he just left them all alone. They were probably laughing and joking and maybe even having some personal talks. He was the same age as her and they spent years together. Of course. He must know so much about his wife. This strange and unannounced man already had her time and attention. What would he do if he had what Parth wanted the most: Vibha's heart?

Parth fisted a stone in his hands before he threw it into the water from where he sat. His legs danced over the water as he brooded over the conflictions of his heart. He had thought that maybe, just maybe his wife would see how he felt about her and begin to feel the same way. She would finally accept him as her husband. But now...

Would she ever be his?

He closed his eyes. This was too much. Grabbing his head in frustration, he growled as his chest tightened painfully.

"What are you doing over here?"

"I'm sulking."

"I can see that."

"Then why'd you ask."

His mother sighed and sat down next to him. "You know," she began. "You've changed a lot since she came."

Parth's hand stopped in the air before he brought it down to his lap. He fumbled with the pebble in his hand before he spoke. "In...In a good way or in a bad way?" He glanced at her, his eyes squinting underneath the shining sun.

His mother smiled at him. "In a good way beta. For the first time, I heard your laughter ring around the house. For the first time, I had seen you truly smile. I had never known my son's smile was so beautiful. I want you to live like that. I want you to share your feelings, your happiness, your sorrows with someone. And I'm glad that person is Vibha."

"Me too." Parth mumbled and his mother simply chuckled.

"I thought you'd be there, you know," she began again. "I thought you would match up to any man and say, '"Hey,"' she pointed a regal finger in the air, "'This is my house. Vibha is my wife. Leave us alone!"'

She dropped her finger and placed a hand over his head. She gazed at him softly. "At least, that's what my son would do."

Parth gaped at his mother. Despite her silly imitation of him, he knew she was right. It was his house and Vibha was his wife. Why was he the one to stay away? A feeling of relief washed over him and his eyes determined in resolution. He stood up and straightened his white formal shirt and black trousers.

"Thank you, Ma." He smiled down at the lady in front of him before dashing off to his home and to Vibha. Out of breath as his feet pounded the ground beneath him, he didn't have enough time to rejoice in his feeling of empowerment. As soon as he neared the front yard of his house, he heard what sounded like "He's what 4, no 5 years younger than you." and was met with a scene that felt like his heart was sliced into two by a venemous sword.

There was his wife and her friend. Embracing each other as if they would never let go.

All reason was blown away as his eyes were clouded by the desire to charge at the bas***d and tear him away from his wife.

"Get your hands off of her!...Right now!"

Parth watched as both suddenly tore apart. He didn't like the guilty look on his wife's face. His eyes narrowed as Vibha walked up to him and placed a hand on his arm. Her simple touch calmed down his bristled state. He closed his eyes in an attempt to hold back his anger and when he opened them he looked straight at Vibha and bluntly stated, "Vibha, I want him gone."

"Parth," she uttered. "You're misunderstanding."

He pulled his arm away from her addictive touch as he coldly hissed, No!" He looked into her intoxicative eyes. "You don't understand! How I've been feeling! How I've been while you're...while you're roaming around with this friend of yours! He tried to keep his face expressionless but the raging emotions of anger, envy, hurt and betrayal tempted him to punch something, or rather, he shot a hateful look towards the man behind his wife, someone.

"Vibha, I think I should leave." Sensing the seriousness between them Manik made his way out of their conversation and the gazebo.

Parth's anger only increased as Vibha turned her attention away from him. "Yeah. I'm sorry Manik."

Parth heatedly snapped at her when Manik left. "What are you sorry for? That I interrupted your precious moment? Or that I embarrassed you? Or that I'm 5 years younger than you!"

Vibha's eyes hardened as anger developed within her. After all this time, he still didn't understand her.

"I will not listen to any of this." She simply stated and made her way out into the yard. She could feel small trickles of rain hit her skin as soon as she left the gazebo. "Why would you?" She heard behind her. "I'm not Manik Malhotra." Her feet stopped in their tracks. She looked back and watched as Parth made his way toward her. Both stood drenched under the dark, stormy sky that only heightened the intensity between them.

"Yes," Vibha started. "You're not Manik Malhotra. You're Parth. And you're my husband. Yet. you've been coming and going as you please." Her voice increased as she spoke and came near him, "You haven't said a single word to me for three days and then you barge in and throw accusations at me and embarrass me greatly in front of a precious friend!"

Parth took a another step toward her. "Oh yeah, he's indeed precious," he mocked.

She was near to tears and her voice shook from the cold rain that hit her as she finished, "And yet all you have is mockery, sarcasm, and immaturity to explain yourself with!"

"Because you don't get it!" Parth suddenly shouted at her. He could no long contain the raw emotions that twisted and turned inside him. His eyes were now red and moist and his face grim as he suddenly smirked bitterly. He moved closer to her and lifted his hand to remove the wet strand over her face. "You just don't," he whispered in soft desperation. Hesitantly, he leaned in toward her face and looks at her for a long time as if about to kiss her. He wanted to believe the upward tilt of her head as she neared him was real and not a hopeless figment created by his own mind. Merely inches away, he hesistanly dipped his face toward her lips when he froze. His shaky breath mingled with hers for a long moment.

"He's 4, no 5 years younger than you."

"Is it my age?

"N..no."

His eyebrows furrowed greatly before he yanked himself away from her as self-repulsion and embarrassment welled up inside of him. Taking a few spaces back, he bore holes into the wet ground refusing to look at her.

Silence descended between them. The only sound heard was the drumming in the skies and harsh rain that hit them. Vibha staggered in shock at the complex actions of her husband. Parth lost his temper many times before but never had she seen him so...sensitive. She finally realized that maybe she had unknowingly hurt his feelings.

Her thoughts broke when Parth violently turned on his heels and carried himself away from her. He only got so far when he felt her arms wrap around him as she fiercely hugged him from behind.

"I will." Vibha's voice was soft as she pleaded. "Talk to me and I will understand, Parth."

The whole word disappeared as the aching pain in his heart, the despair that tortured him for days was washed away by her simple, soothing words. He forgot the torment of his imaginations of Vibha happy with another man because here she was. With him. Saying things that were exactly what he needed to hear.

Her closeness, her utterance of his name, her pleading, innocent eyes that were desperate to understand him triggered a flood of emotions within him as he closed his eyes and placed his hand over hers.

Unknowingly, she had put an end to the burning sensation.
.._..

Part V The Acceptance

They talked for hours through the night. Parth having changed into a white polo and black shorts sat with his arms over his knees next to Vibha who was now dressed in a lilac patiala suit sat with her arms behind her and palm flat on the ground. Staring at the now starry sky, they sat side by side on the green lush of grass as an occasional breeze flapped their clothing.

Parth narrowed his eyes and spoke in a soft whisper. "My father disappeared when I was 14. Vibha turned to look at him as he continued. "He contacted us after many years saying it was difficult to come back right now and I try to understand but sometimes it sucks, really badly too," he scowled.
"But my mom believes that one day, we'll meet. "

"It must be so difficult for your mother." Vibha sympathized.

"My mother thought her husband was dead and married another man. That man was..." Parth's scowl deepened at the resurfaced, painful memories. He felt Vibha draw close to him putting a hand on his shoulder. He appreciated her gesture and the warmth coming from her. He sighed and continued, "He was a drunkard. He beat me and my mother many time. I was always angry and I hated my mother for a long time but then I realized that she did everything for my sake."

"Somehow God listened to my mother's prayers and put me through school and college. I've got a successful business now. My father's back. "And I've got you." He looked at her, his eyes gazing at her lovingly.

Vibha smiled. They stared at each other under the starry sky. They did not avert their gaze from one another. Speaking silent words of conversation, they understood one another and the feelings that spiraled around them. The bolder of the two, Parth, moved his hand to place it over hers. He felt her hand fist the wet grass underneath. He tilted his face toward her, the gape of his white polo widening as if only for Vibha's soft hands to wrap around his strong neck. Parth pressed his lips firmly on hers and then gentler as the moment passed. He grabbed her arms to steady her and pull her toward him. The world around them faded into the gentle night as they met in their own tranquil moment. Parth poured in his hate of his past, his confusion of their marriage, and his longing for her. Vibha cradled his face with her palms as she gently stroked his cheeks understanding his pain and healing him with her gentle touch. Their lips parted slowly and they rested their foreheads against one another staring into each other's eyes. Parth refused to let go of her and Vibha refused to remove her hands from his face.

"I love you." Parth suddenly confesses. His body went rigid as his stomach flips and churns while his innocent eyes nervously await her response.

Vibha's eyes widen slightly at his unexpected confession. She could see the vulnerability and slight fear in his eyes yet he refuses to remove his gaze from her. Her face gradually relaxes and she replies,

"I love you too."

His nervousness slowly subsides as he watches her happy face. Her eyes beam with infinite happiness as she smiles at him shyly and repeats to his immense pleasure,

"I love you too, Parth," she repeats, a slight pink tinge on her face under the bright moonlight.

His lips slowly curl into a tender smile as their bodies relax against each other.

They had finally found acceptance in each other.
.._..

"The new Lady. She's here."

"Finally."

"We've been waiting for so long. It was quite a long wedding."

"She's here, she's here."

"A beauty, isn't she?"

"Sshh!"

All of the servants of the house stared at her with wide smiles. Their eyes beamed at the sight of Vibha. She appeared in an elegant ivory and red saree. Her hair was clipped at the side of her head supported by an ornament that gleamed in the light. Some strands lighly framed her face allowing her to look as beautiful as ever.

"This is my wife." Parth introduced to the servants before turning to her. "And these are the servants of our house, Vibha." Parth grinned at her proudly before stepping aside to give her space.

Vibha eyes slowly fell upon the line of servants and the Main House. She could tell they worked hard in decorating it for her welcoming. She greeted them with a warm, "Hello." A sincere smile graced her lips as all the servants greeted her back with polite eagerness. Parth watched her, smiling with her.

Beautifully written. You are really talented. You put down the various complex emotions so well that one could imagine their entire story vividly.
