you have checked if your OS is compatible with the Chrome version ?

install ad-block and also disable cookies and enable pop-up blocker

and if you have sites open that are playing Flash videos, disable hardware acceleration...

these are the things I have done at home, and i dont have a problem.

having said that, in my office laptop, Chrome isn't stable, so I use Firefox. the only difference is my home laptop is Windows 7 Home premium and office one is Windows 7 Professional

baaki koi solutions nahin hai mere paas, there must be something in your laptop that is not compatible...

did you check all your add-ons and tried disabling some ? if the add-on versions are old, then maybe new Chrome doesnt support ?
