When Kunal Kohli cast himself opposite TV's ultimate cutie Jennifer Winget in his upcoming romantic comedy Phir Se..., it was both surprising and refreshing. Surpassing expectations, the first look of the film was well received and audiences looked forward to watching the charming light-hearted look at love and a secondchance in May 2015.

However, soon after its announcement, news came into the fore that writer Jyoti Kapoor had dragged the makers to court in November 2014 in a case of plagiarism, claiming allegations that the film was in fact, based on a plot that she had discussed with Kunal in January 2013 asking for a stay on the film's release. The court had since then commanded the film's team to stop production till a verdict was given. Soon after, Jyoti moved on to the High Court reiterating the same allegations. As the hearing went on, work on the film continued. But as May dawned on, the release was nowhere in sight and promotions were far from happening.

In the latest verdict from the court, Jyoti Kapoor has won the plagiarism case against Kunal Kohli as the Court rules in favour of the writer. This verdict comes much after the FWA sent both scripts to experts and ruled in Jyoti's favour as well. In the ruling, the court has granted an injunction which puts the release of Phir Se on hold.

Kunal was unavailable for comment.
